Hello it's me from the early 2000s. Here I am pondering my orbs, absolutely certain that FLCL is the greatest show that has ever existed and will ever exist. I have also discovered weed (dude lmao) and am pretty sure it will fix all my problems. Also Rachel Leigh Cook from Scorched and Shannyn Sossamon are the hottest women I've ever seen and would love to marry a woman like that. Surely this will turn out well and they won't just annoy the piss out of me with their Quirk Chungus antics.

Why'd you have to go and do that?

It’s strange because I listened to asterisk yesterday for pure nostalgia and then now theres a thread on /pol/ the amount of times this has happened to me is ridiculous.

I don’t remember the 2000s very much, they were horrible for me. Lived in a one horse small town, didn’t have access to cool anime which I really loved at the time partially because it fed my philosophical bent and it was the easiest for me to understand as a teenager. No Netflix, or streaming shitty poor choice in movies at the movie store, I liked indie films and the only ones at the movie store were about homosexuals. I had a burgeoning love of film and anime that was stomped out because I didn’t have access to fuck all. The best I saw were 80s movies on cable tv. I saw a lot of the 80s classics because I stayed up late watching them on tv all the time. But I thought this wasn’t good enough, the 80s were the ultimate cheese factor to me and I just wanted high quality underground and foreign films. I bought blade runner though and I didn’t get it, it wasn’t enough to titilate my adolescent mind. Couldn’t really buy music very much because there was no music store in town. (What the fuck) and you couldn’t hardly listen to music on YouTube for free. I wasn’t middle class enough music was expensive as fuck and I didn’t know anyone with a good record collection. So I was just miserable and bored as fuck.

They put me on these awful psychiatric drugs which just made some of my teen years a blur in the 2000s.

Had no social skills whatsoever because I lived in a small town and I didn’t fit in

hate that feeling

it seems like people rarely get what they want, but the rest find coping mechanisms and can often live decent lives

i find it strange how despite not growing up with bleach, with my only exposure to it being seeing ichigo on the front (or back?) page of shonen jump magazine bleach still feels by far the most nostalgic and 2000s thing ever. every time i see an old AMV about it it just punches me in the gut that we are not in the 2000s before social media and globohomo was pushed to what it is now.

The Bleach anime has peak 2000s aesthetics.
