Anyone else realize that your parent’s set you up for failure with shit advice and bullshit expectations with the end result of turning you into a workhorse for the kikes? My parents seriously wanted me working 16 hours days just to survive saying it’s “just what you gotta do” and didn’t even have the awareness to be subtle outright told me that’s what they wanted for me in life no mention of friends or a woman or actually enjoying life of course gotta work for that worthless paper to survive. Anyway at 18 I tried as hard as possible to at least ge the fuck away from my worthless parents and after five years I got nothing to show for it not even a shit apartment whenever I got close something happens and I’m back at square one usually to their pleasure. My dad was thrilled when I had to borrow money from him just to fix my shit car to go to work and lorded it over me for fucking months. Eventually I just gave up and escaped to anime and video games not that they cared at least not until a neighbor made a passing remark after which they would yell at me. Why did they even bother? All that time and money spent raising me for this shit life? I don’t understand why did the bother? They could have done anything else.

As I've grown older I've come to forgive my parents for their flaws and mistakes. I'm older now than they were when they had me, and in that I've realised much of what their struggles must've been like. I still talk to and see my dad pretty regularly, he's a good guy but getting old which makes me sad. Your dad is always the biggest strongest guy in the world when you're a kid, kills me to see him getting old and closer to death. Mum is dead, died 2 years ago very suddenly, and woke she was a feminist nutbag she instilled many practical values and a strong internal locus of control. I miss my mum so bad, sometimes she appears in my dreams which makes me not want to sleep sometimes, it's like losing her all over again.

It always boggles my mind that my parents looked at their lives and thought it would be a blessed gift to give to another. Like what exactly was so incredible about life that they HAD to bring me into the world to experience?

My parents think everything is purely based on education and merit and that nothing is rigged. They think that I just need to smile more. That I’m a handsome man when I’m not. They don’t even offer any leverage unless it means going back to college.

If I had a son and he had a problem, I’d help fix it. If he had a defect, I’d get it treated. If he was weak, I’d give him growth hormones. If he was ugly, I’d give him surgery. If he was fat, I’d cook him better food. If he wasn’t popular at school, I’d buy him a sports car. If he was bullied, I’d kick the parents asses of the bully for him. If he was lonely, I’d try to get him something to attract a girl. If he was sad, I’d do something to cheer him up. But why do all that? So he can have a good life before he’s old and irrelevant to people. I want him to have a better life than I had.

But let’s say I did finally work my ass off to pay for things that would fix me. I’d be old by the time I get the money. I get told “Buy ___ when you get the money.” Why start milestones when you’re old? Why care about regrowing hair by the time I’m 50 or 60 when nobody likes old men? Why fix a weak jaw by the time I’m 50 or 60? Why buy a sports car by the time I’m 50 or 60? I’ll just look like an old douche.

God I feel you. You have no idea how badly my mom screwed me over financially. Like, it actually hurts me so much. I have (basically) become a gambling addict because of what she did to me. My soul feels black, like there is a part of me that has been permanently broken. I just wish I could die. Think about if you had a kid in 2006, the smart phone didn't exist yet, the great recession didn't happen yet, Pontiac was still making cars, and today that kid is only 19 years old.

Like my parents are in their late 70s, they’re slowing down now, they don’t do nearly as much. They have a winter house on the ocean in Florida worth more than $1 million that they haven’t visited for more than a week in the last 2 years. Me and my sister are both married with kids, and we’re both successful in terms of being able to afford to live, but goddamn would some extra fucking money help us. just fucking sell it. But they want to “hold on to it,” because “it could still go up in value,” motherfuckers if your house is worth another 100k in 5 years you could be fucking dead, the fucking grip that these people want on money is unhinged.
