i plugged it in & turned it on without any paper loaded, just to see if the thing even powers on
it did, but it gave a long beep & then i smelled burning plastic, so i turned it back off
the smell wasn't super strong, and the uhhh toner drum looked fine & everything
i haven't messed with drivers yet, or plugged it in again
i just sit here

i think i found the right driver, but i can't remember the details

so i guess "i've been trying to get it working" is a stretch in the first place
