You can put in small amounts in the pool, you didn't need a lot of link. You just needed to be holding since at least early 2021. They even gave us a notice in advance for the day and time it would open. It wasn't a surprise where only neets could get in.

I had like 2500 LINK but then lost my job and bad to sell to pay rent. Then gambled the rest on leverage trading and lost it all. I have 1300 now at high cost basis even though I originally started buying at $1.90. I couldn’t have believed that Chainlink could remain a secret and that markets could remain irrational longer than I was solvent. I do think it's strange that v0.1 opened 2022, and v0.2 opened 2023 but then in 2024 there was no update. Honestly makes me think that later this year they are just going to skip straight to v1 for staking. The silence is strange usually they would just edge us and say "new update soon"

you would believe wrong, the pool was only half-full initially with early holders having a couple days early access, after that it was open to any and all. Filled up in 6 hours or so iirc.
