Boomers don't think alts will succeed because bitcoin has the brand and they only buy etfs anyway. Institutions don't want to make bad plays and they know what the others are buying. Even tech enthusiasts don't want to buy because its clear that legitimate adoption of crypto has hit its saturation point. Not only can you send a receive payments like a real currency as satoshi envisioned, but also you can do just about any sort of financial deal on complex blockchains with smart contracts. Anyone who wants to speculate or do business purely in crypto already does. For regular people centralized electronic networks are already fine.
