Maybe if there was legislation on tariffs. As it stands now, itโ€™s just the daily whim of the president, so thereโ€™s no point in making any decisions like that yet.

most manufacturing jobs are in rural areas. the biggest challenge to onshoring manufacturing is making it profitable because american COL is full of jewish scams (rents/housing are absurd). also you need to find people to show up to work every day, not strung out on fentanyl.

working in america is synonymous with being treated like a nigger slave. i know because my dad worked in a factory for 40 years (retiring in a few years) and i worked in the same factory for a few years. anyone with a brain gets out ASAP. rotating shifts, dangerous working conditions, slavedriver managers, mandatory overtime with no notice, etc.

They can't get away with this when there are less bodies to choose from. That's when the labor has more negotiating power and better conditions.

Yep, opening up competition to Asia was disastrous for the state of American factory work. Compete with slaves, have to become more of a slave yourself.

We manufacture more now than we ever have. It just doesn't translate to jobs because we're an advanced manufacturing nation with advanced factories. You need to go third-world mode if you want assembly lines of people putting screws in widgets.

that will always be short lived. just look at the "wfh revolution" during COVID that has largely been walked back by pajeet outsourcing and RTO.

workers get uppity and they ramp up automation or bribe congress for emergency low skill beanernigger visas to fill a critical worker skills shortage that is vital to national defense etc.

everyone keeps saying this but i dont think it's true this time around. USA as a whole is building more partnerships and large scale business deals with india. their work is objectively inferior but it literally doesn't matter as long as it barely functions.

I just told you I'm literally in this exact situation. Fairly large corpo for pharma software, mass outsourced in the late 2010's, they build a horrifically messy application, they have been hiring more Americans to work on "bug fix teams" and try to solve their issues. I am one of them. It's so bad I think they're just in a hole. Software isn't an industry that you can just replace with anyone, it's literally deliberate, cerebral work, and if you don't do that, you create dogshit that clients hate.

i work at a major pharmacy company youve definitely heard of. like 90% of our devs (i work in finance and see the project budgets occassionally) are indian and work for cognizant, infosys, etc. we have onshore devs but they are rapidly being replaced with offshore turds. and of course we have some onshore h1b turds. it goes without saying the CTO is a turdskin.

Indian CTO really is the death bell for any engineering department. I'm guessing the CTO and his staff are the ones that enact offshoring initiatives.

Minimum wage here is 15x higher. Therefore the finished product will be at least 15x more expensive. Are you prepared to pay that much for clothes?
