Iran cannot win when they are facing nukes and a country deranged enough to use them, and 400000 burgers in the military willing to be Israel's meat shield so Idk whats their plan
Also I dont want to trade when WW3 is raging on, shit could flip any second

Should I sell SOXL now that I am green on it yes or no
Buy the dip. Literally nobody cares about another Iran/Israel slap fight.
Wait. You're actually gonna hold through the weekend anon?????
>>60501258They're gonna make a deal by the end of next week

In Judaism, certain numbers hold symbolic and spiritual significance. The numbers 7, 10, 12, 18, 40, and 613 are particularly prominent, often appearing in religious texts, traditions, and practices.
It's gonna bottom in 7 days
>>60501271Nike getting free plug. Fantastic.
I was originally planning to wait until now to buy because I figured the pump would reverse, but I got antsy and bought early. Panic sell when?
>Iran does the shitty ballistic missile on dirt fields play again
>>60501274I think it's a nothingburger as long as it stays contained
If it spills over and starts getting other countries involved we are in deep trouble.
Bought SOXL at 19.50, sold at 20.20 and I also closed a cc but still got 80% of its value , definitely not holding this shit over the weekend
Tankers now really moving
>>60500984update: shouldnโt have sold the put at a loss. if only i had waited 90 minutes lol
the TSLA put brought me back from -20% to +4%. sold early but better to be barely in the green than deeply in the red.
bought back the nintendo stock I sold to buy the put, and bought a GUSH $25c instead of rebuying UVIX
>>60501274I want to but if Israel hits the oil facilities the dip will be big-er.
>>60501305>as long as it stays containedIran should have destroyed Israel the last time it launched missiles. Likely Iran will get its shit pushed in because they are weak and indecisive. Markets will react positively to Iran being destroyed.
ai dashcams doing great today but why did i buy gme as a joke lmao
>>60501275even now with the market collapsing its just crabbing so why not

It would be the first time in history where a country of 90 million gets wiped out
>>60501324Turns out they are a bunch of pussies, no one will miss them. All that money they spent on military and do nothing with it. At least there is a lot of oil Israel will own soon, so there may be crude oil price spike, but after that the oil will flow.
>>60501324The fuck, Iran is that big? I know literally nothing about middle east shitholes...

>>60501324idk man I watched a video of a guy driving a honda bike through Iran some years ago and everyone seemed awfully nice
>>60501274It feels like the market has entered the paradigm of "happening" fatigue where they just say "fuck it" and hold anyway because it'll eventually just go back up in a short while even if it does drop.
I hope none of you bought that "dip" when the S&P was only down 0.40%. I really don't want to share a board with a bunch of complete morons.

Think about it - if you are a tanker owner would you go in the gulf?
If hormuz closes and you're stuck inside, even if nothing happens to your ship, you get a CTL insurance payout but only after a full year.
It happened in Ukraine with the ships that were stuck there when the war started.
You'll get the value of your ship only 12 months later. It's a huge risk.
You might be obligated to go in if you have already agreed employment beforehand, but on any ships you have that are currently unfixed you would ask for a massive premium and it's totally justified.
In short: you don't own enough crude tanker stocks.
>>60501738The value of a newbuilding VLCC is currently around $125m.
Would you risk your $100m asset being stranded for a year before you get your money back? A ship that has averaged $41k pd in earnings for 2025 so far and likely much higher for the rest of 2025.
I'd ask for insane money to go in. The freight cost is almost irrelevant compared to the cost of the crude anyway.

>>60502271>If your option is out-of-the-money at the close, Robinhood will take no action and the contract will typically expire. It says on that page that it will not exercise that if you are OTM. >>60502303>RH turn around and say, no we will exercise it despite expiring OTMThey option buyer can, not the seller. If you owed RH money they can sell your shit and control your account to get the money you owe them. You should read up on that to.
you really should stop trading until you understand what you are doing. I have no idea if what you are describing is even accurate, you may not understand what you have done.
RH - "After-hours price movements can change the moneyness of an options contract.
If for any reason we can't sell your contract, and you donโt have the necessary buying power or shares to exercise it, we may attempt to submit a DNE request to the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), and your contract should expire worthless.
To determine if an option position is โat risk of being in-the-money,โ Robinhood will calculate an estimated upper and lower bound for the underlying securityโs close price on the expiration date. If the strike price falls within these parameters, we may place an order to close your position."
You tards need to stop spending so much time looking for the perfect execution strategies, technical setups, and magic indicators and instead focus on what's actually important. You need to learn how to pick the right fucking stock. A mediocre trader can make more money on the right stock that a great trader can make trying to apply sophisticated strategies to the wrong stock. On any given day, 99% of the market is the wrong stock and at most there are a small handful and sometimes only a single right stock. Everybody's a genius in a bull market. The obvious corollary is everybody's a genius when they jump on the right stock

I am here to answer any questions you have related to options.
>>60502548two meme stocks, similar prices - PLTR and CRWV. Why are the option premiums for CRWV so much higher at the moment?
>>60502576Crwv has climbed 200% in a month or so. Option market is pricing that in with massive premiums, because crwv can either pump or dump another 200% in a month, greatly increasing risk. This is called implied volatility.
>>60502589best time to sell DITM puts on CRWV?
I slurped 17 more shares of MAIN during the dump. Monday may or may not be time for even more slurping... let's see what happens.... i have a feeling it's going to be be a loooong weekend bros.
>>60502597>>60502597Do you mean itm? The best time to sell puts (cash secured puts) generally is when a stock pulls back, because then the value of put options climb then drop again due to iv crush and theta decay when it climbs again (you want the option value to drop when selling to buy them back cheaper).
Do not sell puts if you can't cover the margin of buying 100 stocks at that price or you don't want to own the stock.
Good to hear they are trading again. Art of the deal!
>>60502614>Do you mean itm?DITM Deeep in the money
I only sell puts on stocks I want to buy (if I get assigned, and I think the premium helps me get a better price if assigned). AT least the premium helps offset the cost basis if it drops too low, but volatile stock have such price swings it seems fairly easy to dump the stock at a profit.

>>60502639You should never sell deep itm puts unless it's part of a vertical spread. You are basically signing to buy a stock at a higher price than what it's currently trading. Even if you are extremely bullish about the stock, you should sell otm puts (30- 50 delta). If you want to get assigned no matter what, then sell a slightly otm put beginning of the week, milk premium and then roll on Friday at a slight otm put, or just close the put and buy it outright.
>>60502704>unless it's part of a vertical spreadhow do you figure the spread to use on a volatile stock for deep ITM puts?
>>60502716Depends on the direction you want to play. With puts, you can do a bull put or a bear put spread. (You can do it with calls too). A bull put spread is you saying that the stock won't fall below x price( your short put strike). A bear put spread is you saying the stock won't go past your strike (your long leg strike price). Bull puts are theta positive, you get paid for waiting, bear puts are theta negative so you need the stock to dump or you lose.
>>60502726>>>60502429so looking at this chart,
>>60502726your saying for example to sell a 160 (160 - 19 = 141) and buy 142, If I think the stock price is going to close 162.5 at expiry?
>>60502733Yes. You want the stock to stay above 142 before expiry. However since the call is so deep itm, theta decay is negligible. You'd have much better gains with an OTM bull put spread such as a sell 141 buy 135 put.

I CAN'T PICK A STOCK THERE IS TO MUCH AND IT'S TOO HARD
>>60502736why not sell a 152.5 for (13.65) and buy 135 (4.1), if its all a bit of gambling and you think the stock will stay above 138ish, the spread (13.65 - 4.1 = 9.55 ) seems better, for this particular stock - CRWV considering its hot and likely to run again after this pull back. Fundamentals have not changed and it still has that meme energy, for now.
>>60502744Not a bad spread desu, but i d still go otm. I would run the sell 144 buy 134 and let it ride. Of course we don't know what pre market will do on Monday so it's all speculation.

>>60502876>okay, get your overalls and go pick the lettuce for less than minimum wage, you dumb cuntsBack when my parents owned a house with a large backyard, they had a nice garden that would produce some really nice sesame leaves for salads. I'd collect earthworms around the yard and feed them eggshells, fruit peels (they really like oranges for some reason), and vegetable clippings. It would make the leaves much more herbal in flavor.
The lettuce was fine too. It would grow back so quickly that it was practically free.
I think that something like that necessitates homeownership, or a large balcony.
>>60502876This here also explains why and how you get to the statistics that blacks and mexicans are a "net negative" on the budget. They do the low-paying jobs, it's obvious that per capita they will pay less taxes. It doesn't mean that they are all leeches. The employment data logically states the opposite. Yes, blacks have higher unemployment but it is also around 6% (EU countries have higher unemployment). Their taxcontributions are simply far lower, cause they earn a lot less. If whites were to replace them at those jobs they'd contribute less too. Now, would wages rise if these people get kicked out and whites replace them at their jobs? Maybe, but that would lead to an increase in prices across the board. The luxury and comfort of a few people is built on the exploitation of the mass. The other option would be to heavily subsidize these businesses (farms etc (which already are getting subsidized WITH ILLEGALS). The ones who profit the most of this system are at the toppest top. You could revert everything, but this is accompanied by economic pain that you'd have to push through. It would hurt everybody, least the poor, more the middle class and most the upper class. And that is also the issue why it is not happening or very unlikely. But americans love to focus on race instead of class.

>The other option would be to heavily subsidize these businesses (farms etc (which already are getting subsidized WITH ILLEGALS). Yes they are already subsidized because of lower pay, but also those people are on foodstamps so that "lower pay" is offset by even more subsidization meaning we pay more for them to be paid less.

>>60502974Unironically deserved. Who loans illegals money, what kind of bank or credit institute is that? What kind of businesses do you have there?
It's the same with your farms and hotels. How are there so many illegals employed? Sure, there are people in europe that work illegally, but regularly they have some kind of right to be here. It's just that they arrange with the employer to not register them. Employing somebody who doesn't even have the right to stay is another level.
>>60502993>Yeah but I find it alarming how it's becoming normalized for people just not to pay the debt they rack up.I wouldn't worry about it. Being Iranian is suffering. We're getting shit on because we've had retards in charge for the past 45 years that have run the country into the ground. The one thing they're competent at is domestic repression so we can't even get rid of them.

>>60503421well both have outperformed high yield savings accounts over long periods consistently so if its for long term saving, yes.
>>60503421Is that legal?
I'm not an expert but in my view anything that can potentially go down in value cannot be advertised as savings
>>60503421Everything is a trade anon.
Cash and bonds can lose Vs inflation.
>>60503438and anything above the insurance limit can be grabbled by a bank under the right conditions
>>60503411I know how much they're stealing but it still hurts to hear stories like this.
>>60503422Can't argue with that. Things were looking up for a bit after the constitutional revolution at the start of the 20th century, but then the eternal anglo intervened and it all went to shit again.
>>60503432>Is that legal?I don't know. Don't know if anybody has tried to go against it in court. But it is commonly and widely used. You see it everywhere, brokers, neobrokers and banks use it. It should not be legal though. Saving means not spending and buying is spending.
>>60503438But holding cash does not risk losing your principal.
Bonds regularly also not, but there is the risk. The term "saving", I mean you can debate if it means absolutely no spending or it includes "lending" like bonds or a "savings account". But putting money into the MARKET, does pretty much contradict the original meaning of saving.
Inflation is a universal risk.
>>60503453I mean, when you buy something in hopes it returns more in the future it is an investment.
You can save or spend.
Spending means giving money away for something in return.
Investing is spending.
It might "save you money" in the future, but it is not saving.
>>60503400Another thing that has been on my mind is that everyone seems to think that by putting your money into an ETF you'll get solid guaranteed double digit returns in the long term.
And it's been bugging me because obviously not everyone can be a winner and by definition the majority cannot be doing better than the average.
But on the other hand, there's two more things to consider
1) Most of the people I know are not buying ETFs. They're spending everything they make and living paycheck to paycheck even though some of them make a lot more than me.
2) Many people are buying ETFs that are not passive index funds at all. There's all sorts of ETFs now, "AI Growth" and highly sector specific ETFs. These are not passive, it's the definition of active investment just disguised as an ETF for marketing purposes. So the numbers might be a little skewed.
>>60503471>And it's been bugging me because obviously not everyone can be a winnerthere are plenty of people who lose in the stock market. They buy or sell at the wrong time, or buy or sell too much, or of the wrong thing
>by definition the majority cannot be doing better than the average.an index ETF just means you get the average return. if you're talking about an snp500 index fund, then it's a market cap weight "average" of sorts. In reality, the equal weighted version would be better (usually) but market cap weighting just makes it far far easier to set up with less turnover and therefore less cost and less tax drag. But if you could theoretically setup an equal weighted true average of the snp500, then it would be better (and has been, historically)
there have been a few exceptions where large cap companies do so well that they overcome that. and right now, we are living in one of those time periods. but what comes up must come down. "eventually". hard to say when that will happen exactly though
>1) Most of the people I know are not buying ETFs. They're spending everything they make and living paycheck to paycheck even though some of them make a lot more than me.hell yeah man. People who make more than you, but they are worse off financially. I know people who make more than 400k a year, and they don't have much savings. It's just like... why? With that kind of money you could be set for retirement in a few years. Less than a decade for sure. But they really like spending money and enjoying that lifestyle. So it is what it is
>2) Many people are buying ETFs that are not passive index funds at all.yep. And there was a study done that the high returns of a certain sector or theme went away right as it became popular enough for some high flying salesman to set up a "thematic etf".
Like basically, exactly when some one announces the thematic ETF of this or that, is right when you should pull your money out. give or take a couple months, statistically speaking
>>60503384>The one thing they're competent at is domestic repression so we can't even get rid of them. For once, I can't even be mad at you on that regard, because you definitely try, i.e those massive protests where you guys have the balls to go against state forces shooting at you (and not with blank bullets).
I can't say the same for many apathetic people that simply leave shit as is and blame others instead of blaming themselves for not doing anything and letting things as-is.
>>60503416>It would take a 2008-tier market shart followed by almost zero real growth for a decade to put a dent into those numbers.Normies are trying really fucking hard to make that happen. No one wants to go austere willingly. It's a slow process of attrition.
>The DCA nigga reins supreme, as always. On the other hand, they don't move money on downturns. You essentially have perma-bagholders that staunchly refuse to move money and I think active traders are learning how to exploit that.
>>60503400>Would it take years of indexes underperforming, or moving sideways, for the trend to reverse? The issue with DCA is that it is designed to benefit from downturns. Just buy more when it's cheaper. Like the other anon said, it requires sustained stagnation or pullback long enough that it performs worse than a savings account or a t-bill.
The other is that the big players that grow the large-cap companies just take a massive shit so hard that it mogs the entirety of India for the next century. Since the big players this round of boom are tech companies and semiconductors, the only feasible scenario within the next five years for that to happen require the following:
>china commits to a full invasion of taiwan>china fucks up the attack and turns taiwan into an island-sized industrial accident>taiwan loses their semiconductor fabs>there are insufficient backup production capabilities to meet demandThat would be enough for companies like NVIDIA, AMD, TSMC, JSR, etc. to get totally shrekt. You'd want to long Intel since they run fabs globally instead of relying mostly on Taiwan to make their daemonic electric rocks. Extra lulz if Taiwan manages to destroy the Three Gorges Dam in retaliation.
The US is obsessed with a 2027 timeline for China to commit, but who knows how it'll turn out. China is quietly building military shit worldwide to prepare for what they believe will result in decisive victory.
