Does anybody here still believe in BTC's funcionality and that it can be used for anything other than speculation? It honestly feels like there's no way to turn back now from the path of ponzi scheme, what with the same institutions that caused the last stock market crashes purchasing BTC.

you will never be able to use bitcoin as a medium of exchange if it's not desirable to begin with, everyone must want it
currently, I'd rate bitcoin as a 1/10 "people want it", with a very strong positive trend

>use bitcoin as the medium of exchange
Why don't these retards understand that if Bitcoin were actually capable of being a real currency it would have been adopted globally in a long time ago? It's been like 17 fucking years or some shit and nobody uses it because it doesn't fucking work. People in places like Venezuela and Africa would have been using Bitcoin over a decade ago instead of their failed currencies and it would have naturally become the global currency but Bitcoin is a failure as a currency, it can't scale, it's slow, it's shit and that's never going to change.

A medium of exchange that costs $1.50 and takes 10 mins to confirm LOL. Tokenized Gold on the other hand $0.01 fees and 5 seconds to confirm, now theres a medium of exchange that can be used to buy a coffee just as satoshi intended. (Link will profit at every step)

BTC only needs to be used for the most significant transactions as they're the most significant.

Unit of account, money-as-tally-board, is the systemic function of money, this is a vital economic function as without the signaling of money we could never autonomously organize into the mutually beneficial superorganism that blankets the earth like a planetary slime mold.

All monies before BTC were trust-based. Yes, even gold, as it's physical nature requires centralization and abstraction to be used as unit of account. As Szabo notes, trusted third parties are a security hole too large to leave open in money, using someone "real trustworthy" isn't a fix, the problem is the TTP, if you remove trust from money it can't be corrupted.

Trust based money will always be corrupted because it's too good a score, it's the best place to parasite, and once corrupted the corruption will spread as you're now rewarding corruption. This process is hugely negative sum as you're fucking up the signaling of money. The world is falling into BTC as it proves a truer economic signal, BTC will continue to reward adopters as that is what the positive externality of trustless money yields.

Medium of Exchange is a trivial use of money as there’s little term risk, just look at the hot garbage we currently use as MoE (fiat) to see the truth of this statement. Only net demand encodes novel information into the price of an economic unit, using BTC as MoE would not increase the fidelity of its price signal as the supermajority of MoE use would average out.

To save without trustless money requires a litany of counterparties, trust and carrying costs. Most of the edifice of global finance is dedicated to the process of constructing a pseudo-bitcoin, a semi-fixed economic unit to use as tally board. Remember your Hayek, money is not transactional media, it is economic signaling, allowing n prices instead of n^n prices. BTC as sole denominator provides a near perfect, trustless price signal for money. Literally the most useful thing ever in history.

>slavemind can’t into abstractions
Sad.

Think about what you are actually doing when you “invest” (save) via an index fund, you are trading your resources through an intermediate economic unit (fiat) for a more constrained economic unit, the index fund having been stripped of most of its real tangible properties through broad diversification, bitcoin improves on this process by eliminating trusted third parties and by being a pure economic unit without other uses to distort its price signal.
