Current state of the job market
The company at which I'm doing my internship has told me that they won't be hiring me (or anyone) for the next 3 months (which is a way of saying never). How do I feel about this?

I've worked for free for the past two months as part of my studies and they've taught me and used me as free labor. Surely they can keep using me as labor but with a pay this time, right?

Anyway, thread about the current job market.

They know you are retarded for working for free. Failed the IQ test and got cucked.

I'm currently on my last 3 days of internship. I'm actually solving their problems as we fucking speak. I'm doing some big ass SQL procedure (which is quite fun I might add) but I ask myself, why TF am I putting in this effort if they aren't going to pay me for it.

It's a stupid gay world. Fuck this shit.

I dont get why companies bother with the effort of internships if it isnt as a recruitment tool, i get the we take one of the 4 kids approach but going into it knowing there is a hiring freeze is retarded
Even if working for free i can't see them benefitting from short term labor in a skilled environment

Would be a different story if it was just lifting boxing of course

because I live in a socialist state (spain) and the state paid for the internship anyway (social security and whatnot); so they might aswell go for it. I'm sure they get some benefits too apart from having me as free labor.

I also lived in europoor while i still wagied, interns a net drain because they sucked time and thus productivity from actual employees attempting to be productive.
Of all the interns we saw there was only one who was a net benefit to our bottomline and of course he got an even better job offer later on lol

Well, the least they could do is write a nice recommendation on your LinkedIn (however gay that sounds), so that a possible future employer could read it and get at least a hint of what they're about to deal with by hiring you.
While the current job market is somewhat poor, it definitely helps having some evidence on your resume or social media that would show that you are responsible, that you can be trusted, and that you can actually solve problems.

I've been doing actual work for actual clients for 4 weeks now. I imagine that my productivity would only increase with more knowledge about the platform I'm working on.

I think the issue is that it's just a failed state with no one creating new jobs or opportunities. And why bother, since the state will take it all anyway? The latest in corruption was discovering the brother of our prime minister having a do-nothing filler job and taking 120k€ a year to portugal and not even showing up.

Our prime minister still hasn't resigned.

Pedro Sánchez dimisión y cárcel. I've been living in Spain for some years now and I hate the dude. I've seen this play along already. I'm originally from Argentina, so I'm pretty happy with Milei, and I hope one day Spain could get a similar candidate (however improbable).

>also, I have a company and I do benefit from hiring interns.

Good luck with the job hunt. It's complicated.

I live in Spain too and it's what you said, we are a failed state in the making.
We have stupid high taxes and we subsidize all the wrong industries and services. In this case, the state is subsidizing your labor to that company but it has also subsidized your computer science degree and we receive thousands of low wage workers to subsidize labor even more for companies.
You also get taxed and bureaucrate'd to hell if you want to start your own business, which is the only way you can earn actual money in this country because salaries are through the floor.
I manage my family's business (13 workers at the moment) and the taxes and bureaucracy is fucking mental. I need another person in the office to have a good grasp on all the paperwork and I have 1 accountant and myself working full time on it. Finding a good office worker is also nightmarishly expensive. All the good ones apply for government employment which pays way higher than us and we can't compete. We live in a society where the state is pumping up the bureaucracy sector by hiring massively for it and demanding more paperwork each year. It is not fucking sustainable.
Public workers have access to private healthcare btw. This is the funniest shit of all. We pay for public healthcare through our salaries but we also pay for public workers to have private healthcare too. We need to chop off politician's heads pronto.

What will happen: AI will jiu-jitsu the bureaucrats within 12 months. The politicians can't release 10x more laws, because that would create unrest. If your company's business itself is AI proof, you are set. Enjoy.
