If you would like to own them, then why would you care if you get assigned the stock? If you sell the contract, the buyer has the RIGHT to exercise the contract anytime, even if out of the money.

That is the wheel strategy. You can if you want to, or if the stock is increasing in price you can ride the price up, then sell a covered call. If your are assigned the stock and it tanks, and the premium spread is thin, then you can sell a covered call but the premium may be tiny. Study the stock price movement and the options premiums for a week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks and longer. If you are assigned and the price tanks, you can sell a covered call for a longer duration, but then your money is tied up in that transaction until expiry or you close it out by buying it back if you have enough gain. Its not complicated, just lay out the steps price targets before so you have a plan. Start very small so you see how it works and do not tie up you money too long, unless you want to.

It depends on you. You can keep it, you can sell it, you can sell covered calls with it (like dangling bait) to make some extra money from the premiums. You can sell a covered call out of the money, at the money, in the money and at different expiration dates to help you pick the right time and premium amount. Study the call options prices for RH for this Friday, and the next weeks and months. Do you think the stock will rip, stay steady, or tank during that time? What are you trying to acheive with this particular option contract? I suggest you do a lot more studying and paper trading before you do anything so you know what trade you are placing and what its going to look like BEFORE doing any real options trading. You maybe better off just buying and holding stocks for a few weeks or months and buying low and selling higher. Or just buy long term holds for growth on good stocks. Or a combination of both, but preserving your capital and playing it safe is the most important thing. Once you have experience you can risk a little more if you are making money.

my understanding is that israel doesn't have the bunker busters we have
though doing a strike on iran would require us to fly over their airspace (because they are waaaaay to big to be missiles, so they are just bombs)
so it would represent some risk to us

I thought the decent ones were bought out already. Also, prices have to rise enough and stay high long enough for producers to commit to new wells. Likely they will try reworks or refracs first as they are less expensive than new wells before committing to drilling new ones. Keep an eye on the frac spread and drilling rig numbers.
