I'm kind of tempted... $50 annual fee, 2% bitcoin back, so as long as you spend $2500/yr, you break even. Yeah?
The fine print mentions certain transactions won't qualify for bitcoin back, so I guess I'll have to see what those are.
Besides that, I'm not seeing a downside since I have no interest in airline miles and reward points to be able to pick stupid shit.
What am I missing?

Of course, but as long as you pay it off 100% every month, you're not going to get fucked, and it might be better than the alternatives (e.g. for someone who doesn't travel). It'll also be nice to not have to pay fees when purchasing bitcoin due to the Coinbase One subscription.

Based. I fear they may not offer rewards on such a transaction, however. We'll have to see.

Oof, read a little deeper. Looks like $0 on the first $500/mo, which ain't shit.

I think JMB allows credit card purchases (with Amex)
so the only question is if coinbase is specifically blocking the SIC or merchant ID, IIRC there's also a block on buying gold on Amex within the first 6 months as well but I remember buying gold on ebay with it on month 2 or 3 before ebay banned Amex so they have to disallow by SIC/MID

I guess this is a whale card, $0 on first $500/mo is kind of ridiculous, even with the additional protections of Amex. I'm wondering if there is a rotating awards list though, that might make it worth it depending on which companies they include

That's only if you want more than 2% back.
It seems competitive, but it'll depend on the limitations...

They are coming out with a $50 annual basic plan as well.
As far as I've seen, the limits that determine the percentage Bitcoin back yet has not been published.
