They don't want us stacking silver because ideally they want our savings/pent up purchasing power financing the system and not actually drawing-down real-world resources. The history of money is most easily summed up by the wealthy wanting to restrict the amount of money available to the peasant classes in order to promote loans. They don't want valuable coinage changing hands because they would rather keep it all in a vault and then give loans against it. Most likely absolutely nightmarish. You got a combo of countless legislations around PMs + legislations on historic artifacts + legislations on legal tender (demonetized or not). It will not be the correct move to sell credit assets for real, physical capital investments. Debts that can't be paid, won't be paid.
So as the banks start the dollar-dilutions that will lead to the fiat-fallout, people will be putting more of their wealth into physical assets such as money metals. If the historically low 1%PM allocations revert to the historical average of 4% then 100%+ of yearly metals would get bought up. The truth here, is that the dollar has been ruined because the Fed has already sabotaged its balance sheet back in 2008.
