>>60533606Iran has a lot of experience in selective blockades now, it's what they did in Suez with the Houthis.
Chinese and Russians pass untouched, everyone else stays away.
This time it would be the Qataris and Chinese passing untouched.
And we already saw in Yemen that bombing them doesn't stop cheap drone and missile attacks. The US was defeated in the Red Sea and had to withdraw after multiple expensive losses.
>>60533606>Neither Russia nor China want the strait of Hormuz closed eitherwell russia might like that, since it will increase the price of oil

China certainly doesn't want it

>>60533614>Iran has a lot of experience in selective blockades now, it's what they did in Suez with the Houthis.>Chinese and Russians pass untouched, everyone else stays away.if it affects saudi oil, then iran is going to get bombed by an even bigger coalition of nations, not just sanctioned and blacklisted
It would be a monumentally stupid thing to do
>>60533634Yes but would they do anything about it?
The Egyptians got royally screwed by Iran when they blockaded Suez but they did nothing.
You can't stop them with bombings and air superiority, you need boots on the ground. No one will commit to that.
>>60533666>Yes but would they do anything about it?>The Egyptians got royally screwed by Iran when they blockaded Suez but they did nothing.the problem is that iran isn't a bunch of ragtag guerillas with 10 years of experience hiding out with the boys, like the houthis
Iran is an actual country, with an actual military (lol, not any more) and an actual economy
When you use a conventional military to attack conventional military targets, yes, that does a lot of damage
As we are seeing now
>You can't stop them with bombings and air superiority, you need boots on the ground. No one will commit to that.As far as stopping them from blocking the straits of hormuz, america did that in the 90s with 3 destroyers over the course of a single day
Iran has a long history of getting booty blasted every time they try conventional military tactics, which is why they do the proxy thing
Now they are chimping out, and trying to pretend they have a real military. This is not going well for them.
>>60533520 (OP)Thank you Rabbi Trump. You are our greatest ally.
>>60533679>This is not going well for themNo joke, the game was rigged from the start. It's crazy how over the years before this began I actually believed Russia and China would step in for Iran but no, their alliances between the three of them is paper thin and there is really no upside to them sticking their neck out for each other. On top of that Russia secretly considers China an enemy because they keep sending spies over, rewriting history centered around disputed land between their countries, and have the audacity to try and regret Russian spies over to China.
After seeing how nasty of a game this all really is it's either globohomo or nuclear annihilation. This is hell.

They are domiciled in Ireland (all ETFs sold to Europeans must be UCITS hence Ireland/Luxembourg domiciled usually) which has a tax treaty with the US and pays "only" 15% withholding tax, then the ETF reinvests the dividends in it automatically.
So you don't have to pay dividend taxes, you just have the capital gain if you sell the ETF.

Yes, I am short on the markets, how could you tell?
Even though there will definitely be a dip tommorow, this is a complete nothing burger, AGAIN. Iran is completely useless and can't do shit. Blockading a strait means putting your actual navy to do it, and they won't, because they are useless and will get btfo. What they will do i lob some more shit tier missiles at tel Aviv that don't do shit, fund houthis to lob some drones on ships, claim they demolished the Hebrew menace to placate their population and then cuck out.
They even do all these shit on weekends EXACTLY to not spook out the market too much. It's all gay and fake.

Back in the plandemic years I was "shitposting" that there were people working in finance, whose careers were already past the half way point, that have never seen a monthly red candle before.
And I was not too far off with that hyperbole.
>>60534678All this is true, except there might not even be a dip tomorrow. Everybody has seen the covid """""crash""""" and the tariff """""crash""""" and the 2022 """""bear market""""". Nobody bothers going through the song and dance of a "dip" anymore.
crypto stopped dumping. markets will open big red but won't dump more than that.
Iran is a total nothingburger, markets will rally on monday
>>60534691its amazing how we are almost in a recession pretty much permanently and the big one never really comes
>>60534700>>60534691Everyone buys the dip because it always comes back and a V-shaped recovery is expected.
It's also expected that if you just put your money into an index fund you're going to get double digit returns every year on average.
Unfortunately the only way to correct this behavior is a slow, prolonged period where the econony and the market doesn't do much. Some sort of stagnation combined with inflation. If only there was a word for that.
>>60534690Random missiles don't mean shit. Guess what, NATO deploys some warships in the area to shoot down drones and houthi niggers cuck out again. If they try more shit , Trump bombs them. Again.

>>60534724>effectively betting against the AI boomThis is where NVDA bulls always go astray. A bet against NVDA is not a bet against AI. The assumption that NVDA = AI is really tenuous and misguided. NVDA makes hardware that happens to be useful for AI. NVDA does not create or apply AI itself. NVDA was in the right place at the right time again, first with crypto, now with AI. Their chips are just GPUs; it is not novel technology, nor is it unique; competitors will 100% definitely arise in the AI chip space. Painting NVDA as the linchpin of all of AI is like saying some shovel manufacturer is the linchpin of nuclear reactors because uranium has to be dug out of the ground.
>>60534750once the singularity happens there won't be an East or West anymore

There was another dude saying he's into some sort of thing called "prop trading" where you pay some fee and if you get approved you learn their magic strategies, but if you don't then you lose your money.
People are so dumb.
>>60534758Is this old or new pasta?
>>60534756Don't underestimate the market-moving potential of hordes of normies sending 1000s of market orders every minute. Especially now, when fear of stocks is at an all time low. Nobody hesitates to buy. Even if they're buying just $100 worth of stocks at a time. The price of an asset is whatever price the last order executed at.
>>60534763Prop trading isnt actually a scam. You pay a one time fee to effectively have a massively leveraged account if you make some profit.
They profit by betting you blow your account and you have to pay the fee again.
Its an honest transaction and completely within your control.
>>60534758Well compute and networking is like 90% of their business, so if the AI boom goes south, or a big competitor grabs market share, then nvidia goes south.
My main concern is that a paper recently came out showing that continuing to train a model with more parameters eventually surpasses the overfitting problem, meaning that chucking more computing power at problem essentially pays off, which incentivises buying more compute shit.
>>60534756I've asked this before and of course I was ridiculed whenever posting the question... it's one of those things that everybody supposedly knows the answer to, except you.
And of course nobody would care to explain... because. I mean. How can YOU be so stupid to begin with?
So personally, I have arrived at the only conclusion. Most prices are being set by what I called "interlinked algo bots", which might of course not be interlinked, but work on the same fundamental principles of trying to string the market slowly up and to the right by a "dance" of "pretend infighting" passing back and forth certain packets of shares over and over and over again at ever increasing prices. Inbetween that process, retail enters and is occasionally offloaded to. So it's pretty much bots with the same goal trading amongst themselves.
The actual "float" of much of the big stocks is probably a fraction of what the statistics say. It's a small batch that gets bounces back and forth.
I mean... which ETF and retail fund really "sells" their stocks. At best they do quarterly rebalancing or accumulation due to the DCA'ing masses.
This is my idea.
However, I might be completely off.

>>60534768Refute it then, pussy
>>60534756>>60534786Okay, here's the answer: Your perception of reality is incorrect. Probably too much reddit and reddit-likes.
>>60534795>And of course nobody would care to explain... Will you be diffrent?
>>60534805I explained. "so many are struggling to find any kind of job and suffering of high living costs designed to keep the goy poor" is incorrect.
>>60534786>Inbetween that process, retail enters and is occasionally offloaded toThis seems really plausible to me as well. Wall Street firms can't make money passing shares between themselves. They have to lure outside participants in somehow, and systematically offload to them. I've never worked on Wall Street but I strongly suspect a lot of their strategies revolve around retail participants. And the constant V-shaped recoveries every day, every month, every year go back to the fact that the price of an asset is whatever price the last order executed at. It doesn't necessarily take a lot of capital to move prices up. If they systematically fill small retail orders at incrementally higher prices all day every day, it will absolutely drive prices up and lure more retail buyers while they're at it. Normies only do market orders as well, because they don't even know what a limit order is, so it wouldn't be hard to pull off.
>>60534809Ah, so you're hopping IPs and don't really know who you replied to.
So it's thousands of retail dip buyers and only that.

I wasn't bearish enough, sold oil on friday to free up capital to buy other stocks. I didn't even want to sell it, but I was out of cash...
>>60534817Also, they big market makers and liquidity providers (who are part of what is call "the algobot bunch") know pretty much what the big funds and ETFs will buy (by their composition), when the normies DCA, what and how much they will shuffle when rebalancing, etc.
They know this because of the rigid nature of passive index investing, which I guess is one of the dominant forces of market inflows.
Why wouldn't have smart people not figured this out yet and came up with a system to profit off of them.... and profit mostly comes from buy and then sell higher. So everything is set to up and to the right.

and
- Speculation
The reason P/E ratios are climbing is because of 3. That's been a big source of stock market returns in recent years.
Dividend yield is already rock bottom at one of the lowest points ever recorded. Earnings growth has been healthy but the stock market is vastly outpacing it, hence rising P/E ratios.
We'll see if speculation alone will be enough if earnings growth slows for any reason.
>>60534786makes sense. some days the bots are down probably for maintenance or something and everything is so much more chill, theres basically no volatility at all and people just calmly buy stock

Algo bots are turned off during sessions. Institutions cannot fight retail at this point. It has become too easy to trade now due to apps.

The big bank made huge money selling the shit mortgages, then MBS based on those bonds, then buying the same insurance Burry bought from them, then allowed the entire scam to collapse. So the banks ended up shorting the shit they created, and made money on their investments (CDS) and got bailed out for the shit they created. win-win
>>60534907Shorting works as a hedge. Basically:
You have a 1 k position and it has run up nicely
You use a 200 x5 leverage short to protect it
If it goes down, you are even
If it goes up, you paid insurance
