>>60536948I bought an existing company in the US.
I find jobs just by listing my business in the yellow pages, online, and on government vendor lists. I only do commercial and industrial cleaning, so I most of my clients find me by word of mouth and I don't advertise because I'm constantly booked.
I answer emails and phones. I deal with clients. I estimate and bid jobs. I hire people, make schedules, buy supplies and equipment. That's about it. I have to take some classes every year to stay legal, and I have to know an enormous amount about contract law, tax law, employment law, and business practices. I have to know a little bit about cleaning stuff.
I run the business out of my house, I am on call 24/7 though I only rarely deal with clients or employees. For the most part the workers manage the actual work without me bugging them.
