Most economist believe that more business competition is generally good, no? More competition increases the quality of the product. Why would it be any different for females? If she knows the man can get easily accessible sex elsewhere is she displeases him then she'll try to make herself more competitive, either by offering better sex than a prostitute would offer, or by improving herself in other ways a prostitute can't, ie being a good homemaker, mother, etc. In short, not having competition allows women to put in low-effort.
Another 2nd effect is that it gives normal girls/would-be wives less opportunities to be sluts when growing up because it takes manipulating fuck boys out of the dating market. If they can get sex elsewhere more easily, from prostitution, they'll do it. No more telling women just what they want to hear to get in their pants.
So even if you're a guy who thinks prostitution is sleazy and would never engage in it, and you want a high quality trad wife, you should still want it to be legal because it benefits you through these 2nd order effects.
