I opened up a US bank account to withdraw crypto (I'm not American) then after 7 years Capital One sent me an offer for an secured credit card. I accepted, I used the card for 7 months or so and then Capital One gave me my security deposit back and increase my limit, then Discoverer sent me a card and now American Express sent me a card... should I rugpull? I could rack up like $20,000 and never pay anything since again I'm not American.

depends... do you care about being able to rent an apartment or get a job in America at any point in the next eight years? Because if you blow up your credit score, no one here will hire you or lease you an apartment.

your credit history and credit score matter less compared to your annual income.

for example, it would be retarded to give a $20k credit limit to someone with a credit score of 800 but an annual income of $35k

whereas it would be reasonable to give a $20k credit limit to someone with a credit score of 650 but an income of $100k.

Would it? My credit score is 840 and I make $95k. It's all so tiresome.

assuming it's your only line of credit, and you have no other debts, yes 20% debt-to-income would be a very reasonable amount of risk for the bank to take

Yeah I got an offer for an better Capital One card that I can get, I mean the US bank account is useful, but it's tempting to take the money and run, maybe I should increase it even more first...

the last time I lived in the US was when Bush was in office, I have never worked there, only college. I don't have residency.
