Fun fact: A European wagie costs as much as an American. The difference is taxes. They don't know, because most of the taxes go by different names, and are hidden from the wagies.

Germany. We pay mandatory health insurance on income.
You can get private insurance instead for 50% of the max socialist insurance cost, but only if you never ever went to the doctor before for anything more than a cold.
If you told any doctor about back pain, or a bad mood, or that you had a strange feeling in your chest, you are banned from private insurance for life.
You can type in some numbers for the socialist insurance here:
https://www.tk.de/service/app/2004108/beitragsrechner/selbststaendigeErgebnis.app
5500 yuros self-employed income before tax gets you the max health tax of 1200 yuros per month.

I used self employed so that it's easy to see the full tax. It seems wagies are tricked everywhere by splitting the tax before writing half of it on a wagie payroll document. Effectively, there aren't many additional costs. You probably would need an additional insurance that pays for single roomhospital stays, that's 50 yuros per month. Some have additional dental insurance. With all the emerging ultra expensive but effective treatments for diseases, I expect some new premium insurances to emerge.

This pisses me off so much. People do it with health insurance premiums too. "I" pay $140 biweekly and "my company" pays like $450. Everyone acts like that $450 is charity from the company.

fun fact, if you have health insurance through your employer in muttistan and your employer is on a self insured (as opposed to fully insured) model, they can see ALL of your claims detail. what physician you went to, what the appointment was for, what medications or surgeries you were prescribed, etc.

if you use "too much" insurance they can and will take action against you. they could gimp the plan next year or they could just fire you for whatever reason they want.

That's filed at the tax office, not real income. I knew a German billionaire investor who was on the government pension scheme because he had such little income. He also lived in a 1500 sqm* house in his trust fund's park.
And it's average. So it includes all the landlords and government contractors. And the bureaucrats.
Remove these and it gets interesting.

>does your socialist healthcare have jewish nonsense like deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and provider networks?

I'd pay double my current tax rate if it meant it kept me from not having to deal with all such bullshit.
Seems like 60 of the 120 awake hours in USA goes to working and commuting, and the other 60 goes to studying bureaucracy and filling out forms.

I don't think a single of the "yoropoor socialism" yelling meat bots have a clue how quality of life improves with abandoning bureaucracy. Not that it's a socialist thing, considering your tax system.

I get sick, I go to doctor. Doctor say take pill, I take pill, doctor say I stay hospital I stay hospital. I leave, I pay pre-set standard amount (~$50).
That's ALL bureaucracy I have to deal with when it comes to the health care portion of my life.

When I pay my taxes, I log onto goverment tax page, look at the pre-filled form, click accept and send, or add / remove stuff I don't think is correct, like deductables or other income sources, and click send. If I owe I get a bill on my internet bank a few months later, if I'm owed I get it payed to my internet bank a few months later.

You're not supposed to need a damn lawyer to pay your personal taxes, or waddle through a bible of ToS-pages and bureaucratic trickery to get health care - and end up needing a lawyer anyway since they succeeded to trick you, and the cancer in your right ball isn't covered because left ball cancer is only covered if diagnosed on odd dated Wednesdays and average day temperature is above 80F.

>I'd pay double my current tax rate if it meant it kept me from not having to deal with all such bullshit.

blogpost time: for the first time in like a decade i had to see a doctor yesterday. my big jewish health insurer employer is forcing us to do 1 preventative care visit a year or they will charge us a $600 penalty. i work for a major insurer and i have 'good' insurance so finding an in-network primary care physician should be easy, right? the closest in-person appointment was 9 months out and the PCP visit had to be done by 8/31/25 or i get the bad goy $600 penalty, so i coped with an online virtual visit.

it went well and the 'doctor' suggested lipid and blood glucose panels. i say 'doctor' because it was my choice of african black woman MD, vietnamese MD, portuguese/brazilian MD, or one of 2 or 3 white woman NPs. i chose the white woman NP. she was kind of cute.

anyways, she said the lipid/glucose panels would be free or cheap. i wanted to confirm it myself. it took me 30 fucking minutes of crawling through the website to actually figure this out. i had to map the labcorp order codes to a CPT code, and then find the price database on my insurer's website and do a lookup by CPT code. it was still somewhat ambiguous, it will either be $14 total or it will be totally free depending on whether or not they consider it 'medically necessary' in connection with my annual preventative primary care visit.

>have to pay full price towards something you will never actually have the necessity towards using
>disease prevention can literally be learned by not making the incorrect health choices and it is completely free
>''b-b-but what if I got some unheard of disease that only affects the 3% percentile of everyone in the entire world? I-I-It's better to be safe than sorry''
Socialists will defend this while paying 40% of their total income towards a system that only maybe is worth it once you reach 70 years of age.
