The alt season will kick off with the approval of the Solana, XRP, and possibly LTC ETFs. But Solana will lead the way and be the star of the season. Ethereum will reach an ATH of $5,000 and fall miserably.

How do they even decide which ETFs to approve? Can Rubicon devs just create an ETF for RUBI, for example? Or do coins need a certain amount of liquidity/ volume?

I don't know... BTC is at 70% dominance and altcoins are in the hole. What would I prefer to buy? An asset that has almost reached its peak? Or depreciating assets known for explosive performance? /biz/ will of course buy BTC at the peak and then chase altcoins, but it will be too late.

>But Solana will lead the way
XRP has been leading the entire market since Nov 2024. Why would that change mid-run? There are more spot XRP ETF applications then there are for SOL.

Try addressing his point. Or at least give us a reason to think SOL is going to do anything.

I thought it wasn't necessary, it's obvious that Solana is sexier and more marketing-oriented than XRP. Solana is also a younger technology that will appeal to more normies and attract young and trendy developers, phones for example are a very good marketing move, SOL staking is attractive. XRP will have a good performance I think but it's just not the same audience, plus the XRP chart is creepy.

I wasn't shitting on Sol, it was a genuine question. I've not seen one reason outside of moonboi hype to rationalize Sol taking the lead for anything this cycle. It'll likely still run but I have my doubts that it'll lead, let alone be a top performer.

>marketing-oriented
This is not a point in its favor. Retail is burned to ashes on the past 3 years' market action. 2020 isn't coming again because there's no Covid stimulus pumping hundreds of millions of disposable income into every rando's pocket coinciding with crypto also hitting normiespace. XRP is going to lead SOL specifically because it's leaning into institutional utility, where 'marketing' is less drumming hype from midwits and more about making backroom deals.

Sorry, but Solana is the best chain to replace ETH. It does what ETH does a thousand times better. XRP is very different; the goals are not the same. But I don't think XRP's capitalization can increase significantly with their current narrative and their seniority, or else it would take a huge and decisive announcement. On the other hand, Solana is the most used chain. Defi on Sol is progressing enormously and offers better returns than ETH. What do you think the norms will say when they see 6 or 7% returns on the ETF?

Too complicated for the normies. It'll scare them.
