>>60568100I'm telling you what it actually sounds like.
I just updated systems at my operation and it took about a year and I had parallel OMs and tracking systems running for a very long time while I got the new one working how I wanted.
The entire time I was still operating under the old system technically.
In about a month that old system will be entirely gone. All redundancy will be removed when I remove it.
But the redundancy for a long period of time is what is necessary to ensure a completely successful switchover.
Now the new system has been running (again, in parallel) for long enough with no hiccups or problems, I will finally stop paying for the previous system that I used for over 20 years.
Only just now, after six months at least of parallel systems and tweaks and process updates to take advantage of the new efficiencies, or in some cases, to make up for efficiencies I lost (but could do without), am i ready to turn off the old system entirely.
And I spent a lot of time properly designing a db and backup of the old system so that anything unforeseen happening doesn't result in lost records.
So yes, that's what it sounds like to me.
