Investing is literally making money from doing nothing. How is this ethical? People shouldn’t be allowed to be paid money just for owning something

Honestly, it's so tiring (and exciting) that we should be paid to invest! I mean, in addition to the return on our investments, we should have an extra bonus. It's the state that should be paying us taxes.

Ok but since we cant change this anyway why not do it aswell. Also investing serves the purpose of giving money to good performers and taking it from bad performers.

Every minute of every day you benefit enormously by the fact that your clothes, home, vehicles, electronics, etc. are all made by big, expensive machines. Those big, expensive machines and the factories they sit in are paid for by money that somebody invested. And the people who invested in those improved means of production that make your lifestyle possible are not "doing nothing". They are postponing their gratification. Instead of spending their surplus money on hookers and video games, they postpone their gratification and invest. Not only are they not doing nothing, the something they are doing is the single most important thing that can be done for human prosperity.

I buy digital "assets." If someone else later pays me an even higher price for those assets, by their own free will, what exactly am I doing wrong?

You're literally taking partial ownership in a buisness. With that money invested, you're also funding its ability to take-on debt and expand its operations. Sometimes the board votes to just buyback their own stock, but that a reward to the people funding the company.

A really sick part of me kind of wants the Communists and Muslims to takeover America, just so every Liberal can see their retarded worldview on full display when millions of people starve to death because Socialists and Leftists are incapable of understanding logistics, banking and basic Economics. Then again, they see their retarded viewpoints on full display in LA and NYC, but they still can't make the connection. Then they flee the shithole they created and turn the new place they move to into the same shithole. Like locusts.

False
Investing is the act of giving people money in the hopes they will give you more money in the future. Often times they will take your money. If they do give you money, it's usually not a life changing amount unless you gave them a life changing amount. If you didn't give them a life changing amount but they give you a life changing amount, you have managed to beat incredible odds and have accomplished something few do. However you then have to make the difficult decision of taking the money they gave you because you no longer think they will give you more money. This is something that takes a very high IQ
What you're thinking of is called "collecting taxes"

You're ignoring the work you had to do for that money

and all the useful and fun things you could be spending that money on if you didn't invest it

those are real costs to you. Loss of your own time and work in order to take your money and lend it to someone else.

Incorrect. Investing allows people to give their money to companies in order for said companies to use the money to become more profitable. The profits are shared with the investors.

no it's not retard. Investing in a company is basically lending them your cash (labor) so they can use it to produce more labor and let you own a part of the business and get a cut through dividends or they invest it back into the company making it more valuable

Rare to see such a reasonable perspective that also adds value to the discussion on 4-chinnywag. What do the cool kids say? That's, uh, incredibly b a s e d.

It's sad seeing this critical point not realised amongst family and family who decide to invest in XYZ only to sustain life-altering losses, there being shocked that it "couldn't be them" because the word investment is synonymous with ATM. Of course, I console those I love but lowkey home that they open the conversation to discuss financial principles and advice, otherwise I'm getting the popcorn next time.

Anon, go back to your cubicle, you absolute wagecuck. "Making money from doing nothing"? That's called capital allocation, you literal communist. You think factories build themselves? You think innovation just happens without funding? People risk their actual money for potential future returns.
You're just mad you didn't save your tendies. Enjoy your ramen and seethe while the rest of us actually accumulate wealth. NGMI.
