I don't see why people care about dividends (other than very specific tax cases like franked dividends) beyond a convenience standpoint. It's no different to just selling the same percent of shares

Yeah there’s not much point to them, it’s just mental accounting. The only thing that matters is total return at the end of the day

Why does this bother you so much? Some people like altcoins, some people like bonds, some people like penny stocks, some people like dividends. Different strokes for different folks, as the saying goes.
