Unfortunately this week will be full of pink wojaks. Trump is gonna send out tariff letters that cause massive panic. Itโ€™s ogre, sell everything.

But then two weeks from now it will come back. Long term I am still sticking to my buy-and-hold 2x ETF strategy but times like these are stressful as fuck to say the least. Might just delete my Fidelity app and read books for a month or so.

Trump wanted deals. He prides himself on negotiations. He flubbed every attempt at dealing with these tariffs. He's a failure. Most countries don't give a shit about trade deals. The tariffs do nothing besides stab US consumers in the back. The handful of countries that even bothered contacting the US got the run around by Trump. Trump has done nothing besides so how much of a wishy washy flip flopping baffon he is. There is no art of the deal with Trump. He has no cards. The world knows it.

Bear trap to mid 5Ks before final blowoff top to mid-high 6Ks on SPX. This will be followed by recession and a collapse under the 200WMA for bear market. The next bull market will be a lower high before we crash back somewhere between the 2007 high and the COVID low.

This will take place over the next 5 years though. By EOY I estimate we will be in the low to mid 5k region, crabbing there before a downward move to break the April low in early 2026.

Dump the crypto bags on someone after the cycle bull run.

Asking for traditional markets? SP500 top around 6.4k then we are testing the 6.1k top as resistance. DAX and Europe will keep outperforming the US as long as the Ukraine war goes on. As for gold, the chinks will sell their bags and it going below 3k. Bonds will crab.

Well that's my guess. Cause obviously when the interest is over 50% it is joeover. 25% seems like the everything is fucked era. Massive cuts to reverse it, no longer being able to afford social security, medicare, etc.

But to be clear Chat-GPT thinks 8 years of bad times gets to over 50% interest, but that takes a second great depression.

I trust you guys better.

Anyway comparing pic related we got:
$36,500, 2026 Honda CR-V EX, New
$24,276, 2020 Honda CR-V EX, 40,586 miles
>equivalent difference of paying 30 cents a mile to buy new

It seems like a simple decision in that paying 30 cents a mile is too high a price to buy new. That the used CR-V is a much better value. Am I missing something?
>no I'm not buying a different car, it will be a CR-V

Lmao an HR-V is almost 3x as heavy as a Jazz. What a country.
I guess the '26 CR-V is the safer pick as the big downside for that '20 CR-V is almost 5 years of battery degradation so you'd be lucky if you could sell it later on for +$10k.
You could probably sell the '26 CR-V for 25% less in 5 years.

Idk man the hybrid does about 40mpg vs 30mpg on the standard edition, so 0.1 gallons per mile.
At around $3 per gallon and 42 miles average daily mileage, that'd be 3*0.1*42*7*52 = $4,586 / year

I have a pretty good backtesting UI right now I think, here's an example. not all kinks are ironed out yet of course. the backtesting engine generates signals for a given strategy+parameter+asset+timeframe, which are then archived in a database. then I use Jupyter notebooks (with templates and a library of snippets) to explore the signal database and determine ideal filtration, risk config, etc.

I'm not yet doing any ML or anything, just simple TA indicators to stress testing workflows and the UI. the backend is event driven

With that said, Microsoft's layoffs didn't even move their price all that much. Liquidating the nation's corporate assets for shareholder value has made people used to these actions. They spent tens of billions acquiring studios with little to show for it.
There's at least three games, Everwild, Perfect Dark, and "Project Blackbird," which started development as early as 2014 and 2018. The studios still needed a few years before they were released.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I always see Microsoft through a corporate service end. Those studios were bought just to essentially buy the IP to make it inaccessible and kill their competition. Very old-school.

New hotness is acquisition hires, which buys companies to poach their hires, but Microsoft in it's currently curried state is cripplingly afraid of money and success, and is extremely reliant on legacy industries and its de facto majority shareholder influence on OpenAI. So long as the debt is easy, this will continue to happen.

>A stock market being "overvalued" has nothing to do with monetary policy, that's not even something the FED considers when making it's policy decisions.
Sure, but it sets loan rates and people will saturate to whatever debt that they can afford to make minimum payments to, which causes debt to skyrocket with rate cuts. Americans are incapable of austerity of their own volition.

>illegal immigration still happening

So yah. Trump fucked up. Then he chickened out. Now he's trying to act all hard. Meanwhile the world is laughing at him. God damn what a disaster Trump is turning out to be.

i'm a UI expert. (seriously been writing JS since the late 90s built many libraries from scratch).

the issue with UIs wrt trading is that charts are difficult to build and scale, so everyone uses tradingview's, but in _general_ the UI gets in the way. that's why bloomberg terminal reigns supreme.

look into what shkreli is doing with godel terminal.

what I'm going for is different than Godel, more of a strategy research platform than a live market heartbeat type thing. I don't really care about bar charts, low latency, live news, live options OI, etc. I don't need this stuff on my screen, I just need an easy UI for data science type stuff. For my use case I like the YAML UI personally, though it could easily be converted to some dynamic html forms (fields required would depend on strategy etc) or something like that, or an AI agent generating the config (I don't want AI agents generating strategy code however, just configurations)

most backtesters I've seen don't gracefully handle parameter sweeps or composability of strategies and they dont' cache / memoize or build out a db. I basically want a very low latency research pipeline to read a paper or article with a strategy, throw it in my system and analyze the results. so im going for research to production velocity, different goal completely than Godel

but the site for now would more simply be just news aggregation until all that's ready

some stuff like parameter heat maps etc are nice and it's easier to spot patterns, here's a random example of a tearsheet:
https://assets.super.so/37c35fc7-65f9-41ba-8ec1-78a1ab0e2d3c/files/7fadd658-8ffb-464e-8457-7f813528e448.pdf

>what are you writing the engine in?
everything is in python right now, in the future yeah I'll want concurrency and parallelism and was gonna move to rust for some stuff probably (and yeah I'm aware of cypthon).

some of the data science type shite I'll do is evaluate pure signal output across various strategy parameters for robustness using the heatmaps for visual aid, apply various regime filters to see if I can improve performance, SL/TP optimization, partition the data for walk-forward validation, evaluate how various selection criterias and processes hold up to OOS data, different execution models, etc. in the future I'll do more ML stuff but for now I'm intentionally keeping it simple and only working with indicators to smooth everything out while anticipating and allowing for more complexity down the road. I basically want to be able to do really granular analysis with a composable system that let's me iterate and research as fast as I can think.

the yaml config syntax was here: >>60589198. the idea is that you can construct pretty complex strategies relatively simply (the example there is a weighted regime ensemble where sub strategies can have their own risk config, constraints, etc) using reusable components but some new strategies will need to be hard coded.

the second example in the config just shows how easy it is to run a grid search param sweep in the system (can do any number of strategies as well)

importantly you can just tack them as you go too. I want to spend as much time as possible doing data analysis so I want to be able to just add some constraint ad hoc to my strategies and then re-run it through the backend to confirm/validate it's performance (ensuring I didn't have look-ahead bias sneak in during my Jupyter analysis). as opposed to rewriting, rerunning, and re-validating code for every strategy tweak. I hope to embed this into the website once it's polished up and charge a small premium for the compute and data cost I'd incur or something.

and if you are going to sell this thing, I would focus on the customizability of your yaml config. e.g. when I start typing inside of a key e.g. `constraints`, I would expect `signal` to show some kind of intellisense popover. same thing with `volatility_percentile`. to me that would be very attractive. almost like a retool kind of experience.

thanks for the feedback. for quirky names I was stuck on 'bandit' for awhile (multi-arm bandit reference in reinforcement learning), then I liked narwhal cuz it's a small unicorn whale (lol), I liked random forest too but all those were taken, even the shitty domain extensions. I wish LLMs were better at generating good names for this kinda stuff but by their nature it's gonna be generic

Japanese companies are doing better than the politicians. Their domestic economy is stagnant and onshoring to the US may help their fortunes as the US is the fastest growing economy, as well as the fastest to recover when downturns occur.

But yes, the lack of predictability is hurting 47's administration for everyone, especially the ones that want to cooperate. They always give off the impression that they're not doing their due diligence.

It's also worthwhile to specifically make cars for the US market for them, because their US, Japanese, and global lineup oftentimes does not match up at all.

eVTOL is feasible now, I'm not sure who would use it regularly aside from the wealthy. I think it's ACHR and JOBY for that sector. Only downside is the low range due to insufficient electric range.

I think that was primarily due to startups dumping scooters everywhere and then because the American public are assholes, they'd treat them like trash to litter once they were done or they were out of battery power.

I always parked the electric scooters appropriately, but I did my fair share of mudding, drifts, and sent them flying off ledges when I scooted my way through shortcuts during that rental. I did not treat them kindly.

eVTOL aircraft are not quite that cheap to do that, but I wouldn't put it past richfags to do the same, or just lease them so they don't bear the liability of keeping them airworthy.

They truly have to have something INCREDIBLE in the oven to hit $20 this year. I made a couple hundred trading intraweek in when they had literally their first ever public test flight a little bit ago. That's the biggest news they've ever even had.

Just wondering guys.

I have like ~10% of my portfolio in cash.
BOXX which is basically reinvested money market or fed rate.

Would it be smart or stupid to go further out on the bonds maybe 7-10 year and maybe leverage up with something like TYD?

I think Fed will cut rates eventually or Trump puts in a new fed chair who cuts in 2026 after JPow retires.

Baby Galaxon will create the first AI powered TESLA cyber baby stroller. While 27 units may explode on their first day of operation (killing 10 babies, and 17 dog children), TSLA stock will rocket to new ATHs and the P/E ratio will touch on the coveted 250 clown world points.

I've posted it earlier, but they're struggling with any statistically significant clinical trial results with belapectin with MASH cirrhosis at any stage.

Reading through the literature, the issue is that an engineered carbohydrate is not going to fix a clogged liver and varicose veins in the esophagus. The best that GALT has managed is very early treatment and even that isn't statistically significant. Given the years that they've been beating the shit out of this to find results, it's very unlikely that they will find something.

It's a biopharma pennystock trying to cure a notoriously hard to treat disease. I'd bet the company wont exist in 3 years.

>notoriously hard to treat disease
What an understatement. A lot of it is primarily due to patient noncompliance, since MASH cirrhosis is primarily due to being a fork fingered fat fuck. By the time they are diagnosed, the damage is already done and they're too addicted to food to resolve the problem.

nah that's a different type of cirrhosis. Alcoholic, viral, and fat fuck are the 3 main types of cirrhosis, but they can also overlap

Alcoholism is a factor, but there is a significant rise in MASH cirrhosis that originates from non-alcohol causes these days, and a lot of it it just due to the high sugar diets that modern societies eat, simply due to the fact that sugars and carbs are very cheap.

No, when lookin at yeild products you have to look at total return vs the yield, this is usually what you are trading for the additional yield

If its a young fund you must also compare it to similar strategy older funds. You see this in cc alot, where there is no underperformance period because the fund has not been around long enough to experience one
