But then two weeks from now it will come back. Long term I am still sticking to my buy-and-hold 2x ETF strategy but times like these are stressful as fuck to say the least. Might just delete my Fidelity app and read books for a month or so.

>>60588212>getting the tariffs he's been jacking off about for a yearhave you considered meds?
>>60588221>copeTrump wanted deals. He prides himself on negotiations. He flubbed every attempt at dealing with these tariffs. He's a failure. Most countries don't give a shit about trade deals. The tariffs do nothing besides stab US consumers in the back. The handful of countries that even bothered contacting the US got the run around by Trump. Trump has done nothing besides so how much of a wishy washy flip flopping baffon he is. There is no art of the deal with Trump. He has no cards. The world knows it.

>>60588339Go all in bobo do it
>>60588370Bear trap to mid 5Ks before final blowoff top to mid-high 6Ks on SPX. This will be followed by recession and a collapse under the 200WMA for bear market. The next bull market will be a lower high before we crash back somewhere between the 2007 high and the COVID low.
This will take place over the next 5 years though. By EOY I estimate we will be in the low to mid 5k region, crabbing there before a downward move to break the April low in early 2026.
US government has a 7 trillion dollar budget (not counting interest).
Interest is closing in on 1 trillion.
LOL LMAO
>>60588370Dump the crypto bags on someone after the cycle bull run.
Asking for traditional markets? SP500 top around 6.4k then we are testing the 6.1k top as resistance. DAX and Europe will keep outperforming the US as long as the Ukraine war goes on. As for gold, the chinks will sell their bags and it going below 3k. Bonds will crab.
>>60588370literally any stock that will greatly benefit from rate cuts.
Been thinking about using my 403b retirement plan to invest in some stuffs via the transamerica I was obviously retarded because I forgot back 8 years ago when I started my job that I was putting in 5% and my job was matching what I was putting in. Well, I forgot all about going back in until this year when it was brought up at a meeting a few nights ago for new hires.
>>60588462Chat-GPT says it would take a second great depression for the interest to matter without waiting until the 2050's where the interest becomes greater than 25% of budget.
>>60588517>>60588462>Budget of 7 trillion>interest of 1>that's over 10% in interest>chatgpt 25% is needed for a depression era Um we aren't that far away I guess
>>60588370Mstr and ccj for me
>>60588540Well that's my guess. Cause obviously when the interest is over 50% it is joeover. 25% seems like the everything is fucked era. Massive cuts to reverse it, no longer being able to afford social security, medicare, etc.
But to be clear Chat-GPT thinks 8 years of bad times gets to over 50% interest, but that takes a second great depression.
>>60588041Don't sell until it's quadrupled. My female broker advised against this but I told her I believe in David SOXL and she told me he isn't a real person to which I just laughed and called her a silly bitch and hung up.
Chewy anon here. Saving for a car.
>inb4 go to /o/
I trust you guys better.
Anyway comparing pic related we got:
$36,500, 2026 Honda CR-V EX, New
$24,276, 2020 Honda CR-V EX, 40,586 miles
>equivalent difference of paying 30 cents a mile to buy new
It seems like a simple decision in that paying 30 cents a mile is too high a price to buy new. That the used CR-V is a much better value. Am I missing something?
>no I'm not buying a different car, it will be a CR-V

>>60588644I'm not buying either one, just running through the numbers cause it is so much money and easy to project. But yeah the used one is better for me. Basically just got to do some basic maintenance. like change the plugs and some rust prevention.
>>60588614Reviews say the years are basically the same and you should get used
>>60588629All other countries are cutting their rates, eventually that idiot Powell will just copy them because he doesn't know what he is doing. Literally every time he speaks it's always, "we don't know what our own data is telling us," crap
>>60588657>just running through the numbers cause it is so much money and easy to projectdo askholes like you ever shut the fuck up?
>>60588666The used is a gen 5 and the new one a gen 6. The changes were minor and mostly cosmetic. What reviews did you read?
I expect a gen 7 soon cause Toyota recently did major changes to the RAV4, making them all hybrid.
>>60588678You okay buddy. What is wrong?

>>60588614The Hybrid Jazz is better imo, it saves me so much gambling money
>>60588750I own an older Honda Fit (Jazz in your area). They were discontinued in the US in favor of the HR-V. Only the CR-V has a hybrid version.
>>60588629>inflation is transitory - Jerome Powellrates cut will happen. this old fuck doesn't know how to do his job
>>60588777>HR-V replaces JazzLmao an HR-V is almost 3x as heavy as a Jazz. What a country.
I guess the '26 CR-V is the safer pick as the big downside for that '20 CR-V is almost 5 years of battery degradation so you'd be lucky if you could sell it later on for +$10k.
You could probably sell the '26 CR-V for 25% less in 5 years.
>>60588793A poll a while back showed that many people on /biz/ drive Honda's. It was kind of weird and the Toyota owners got really mad about it even though they are basically the same.
>>60588498based, you gonna make it
>>60588802Neither of those are hybrids. I'm not dumb enough to buy a used hybrid...lol
The hybrids new I think start at 40k. Making them pointless.
>>60588614how much do you make per month? you should probably tell us a little more about your financials otherwise no reason to get a used car
>>60588811Idk man the hybrid does about 40mpg vs 30mpg on the standard edition, so 0.1 gallons per mile.
At around $3 per gallon and 42 miles average daily mileage, that'd be 3*0.1*42*7*52 = $4,586 / year
Are my shorts fucked next week or not?

>>60589044I have a pretty good backtesting UI right now I think, here's an example. not all kinks are ironed out yet of course. the backtesting engine generates signals for a given strategy+parameter+asset+timeframe, which are then archived in a database. then I use Jupyter notebooks (with templates and a library of snippets) to explore the signal database and determine ideal filtration, risk config, etc.
I'm not yet doing any ML or anything, just simple TA indicators to stress testing workflows and the UI. the backend is event driven

>>60589496>The layoffs were mostly in their Xbox division.>They spent tens of billions acquiring studios with little to show for it.Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I always see Microsoft through a corporate service end. Those studios were bought just to essentially buy the IP to make it inaccessible and kill their competition. Very old-school.
New hotness is acquisition hires, which buys companies to poach their hires, but Microsoft in it's currently curried state is cripplingly afraid of money and success, and is extremely reliant on legacy industries and its de facto majority shareholder influence on OpenAI. So long as the debt is easy, this will continue to happen.

>>60589524>A stock market being "overvalued" has nothing to do with monetary policy, that's not even something the FED considers when making it's policy decisions.Sure, but it sets loan rates and people will saturate to whatever debt that they can afford to make minimum payments to, which causes debt to skyrocket with rate cuts. >>60589372That'd be wonderful for European industry
>>60589758what I'm going for is different than Godel, more of a strategy research platform than a live market heartbeat type thing. I don't really care about bar charts, low latency, live news, live options OI, etc. I don't need this stuff on my screen, I just need an easy UI for data science type stuff. For my use case I like the YAML UI personally, though it could easily be converted to some dynamic html forms (fields required would depend on strategy etc) or something like that, or an AI agent generating the config (I don't want AI agents generating strategy code however, just configurations)
most backtesters I've seen don't gracefully handle parameter sweeps or composability of strategies and they dont' cache / memoize or build out a db. I basically want a very low latency research pipeline to read a paper or article with a strategy, throw it in my system and analyze the results. so im going for research to production velocity, different goal completely than Godel
but the site for now would more simply be just news aggregation until all that's ready

https://assets.super.so/37c35fc7-65f9-41ba-8ec1-78a1ab0e2d3c/files/7fadd658-8ffb-464e-8457-7f813528e448.pdf
>what are you writing the engine in?everything is in python right now, in the future yeah I'll want concurrency and parallelism and was gonna move to rust for some stuff probably (and yeah I'm aware of cypthon).
some of the data science type shite I'll do is evaluate pure signal output across various strategy parameters for robustness using the heatmaps for visual aid, apply various regime filters to see if I can improve performance, SL/TP optimization, partition the data for walk-forward validation, evaluate how various selection criterias and processes hold up to OOS data, different execution models, etc. in the future I'll do more ML stuff but for now I'm intentionally keeping it simple and only working with indicators to smooth everything out while anticipating and allowing for more complexity down the road. I basically want to be able to do really granular analysis with a composable system that let's me iterate and research as fast as I can think.
the yaml config syntax was here:
>>60589198. the idea is that you can construct pretty complex strategies relatively simply (the example there is a weighted regime ensemble where sub strategies can have their own risk config, constraints, etc) using reusable components but some new strategies will need to be hard coded.
the second example in the config just shows how easy it is to run a grid search param sweep in the system (can do any number of strategies as well)
>>60589823>the idea is that you can construct pretty complex strategies relatively simplyimportantly you can just tack them as you go too. I want to spend as much time as possible doing data analysis so I want to be able to just add some constraint ad hoc to my strategies and then re-run it through the backend to confirm/validate it's performance (ensuring I didn't have look-ahead bias sneak in during my Jupyter analysis). as opposed to rewriting, rerunning, and re-validating code for every strategy tweak. I hope to embed this into the website once it's polished up and charge a small premium for the compute and data cost I'd incur or something.

and if you are going to sell this thing, I would focus on the customizability of your yaml config. e.g. when I start typing inside of a key e.g. `constraints`, I would expect `signal` to show some kind of intellisense popover. same thing with `volatility_percentile`. to me that would be very attractive. almost like a retool kind of experience.

narwhal is too plebbitor sounding. when i think of domains sometimes i'll think of compound words, in your example, "riskless" => "risk-on". then using it backwards if it might work (noksir) => that can be personified to have some jeeves type of mascot or something. the key is to not be super generic, IMO. chatGPT is kind of a terrible name but it's quirky and memorable. good luck.
