>>60588900 (OP)I want to try a proof-of-concept project, that if successful would pave the way for a new way of life.
tl;dr: dwarves/minecraft irl
Longform: Why the fuck aren't we living IN mountains? They're right there. We could dig in, hollow them out, build incredible structures, secure bunkers, have every amenity in a temperature-controlled environment even in the frozen far north. As it stands, the only ones with massive complexes embedded in the mountains (switzerland, new zealand, parts of the american rockies) are bloodsucking pedophile powers-that-be determined to survive the nuclear-or-otherwise apocalypse they seem keen to set off at some point.
They should not be the only ones.
As a bonus, we could have basically untouched wilderness at our doorstep, barring farmland and grazing areas, because we wouldn't need infinite residential sprawl.
So what I'll do with my vast wealth is join one of the new private membership society land initiatives that, currently, allow legal discrimination, gain land on a mountainside (plenty of it in unincorporated areas), and try it out. Make some caverns. Decorate them. Worst case scenario, I now have a personal doomsday bunker. Best case, I can use it to inspire others and form some kind of breakaway civilization.
It'd be cool, right?
