In 2017, i first heard about chainlink. I was a yuropoor NEET without even my own bank account. I had no vector to buy at all. In december, i got a consolation price of about 400 bucks for a >dogecoin video competition a whale held. I put the entirety of that into Link to gain a small 620 LINK stack.
By 2019, i started earning my first money via self-made apps, though it was pathetic amounts... a bit more than $1k over a whole year. I promised myself i'd invest every penny of this into LINK... but then i hesitated. And didn't.
2020 i fell into complete apathy again, making no money whatsoever. LINK started going up, and i thought i was priced out forever, 620 LINK being all i would have for eternity.
2021 i started freelancing and landed some small dev work. After 2-3 months of that, a crypto startup hired me as their employee #2. I jumped at the opportunity, and to my surprise waging wasn't awful. It was actually fun, i had way more freedom than was reasonable for someone with my experience, and i delivered feature after feature. Soon i was the de-facto tech-lead for about half of the companies tech stack.
The company ICO'd and my team allocation, albeit with a vesting date a year in the future, went into the millions. But as the bullrun ended and the narrative of our project lost steam, our token slowly dwindled, and by the time my tokens vested, they were worth nothing. By 2023, i was given a c-level title, work was still fun, but my salary was low at $60-70k, and my tokens merely dust.
I invested in absolute garbage like TOMB and other alts, burned about $20k, and kept the rest in cash after getting burned.
In 2023, various public successes meant i had the opportunity to switch to a > silicon valley startup. Just in time as the crypto company started fading, i took the opportunity again for a big pay bump: >$200k.
Since then i've been waging diligently, and have once again reached executive level despite the company being in a radically different industry. My salary is soon to increase further, probably in the direction of >$300k.
With all of that additional income, in 2024, i got briefly nerdsniped by S&P500 FIRE bros, and put over 150k into it. Almost my entire cash savings. The rest i gambled on solana and eth meme-coins. Which worked amazingly, i made about $130k gambling on LINU and HAMMY.
Only problem: I didn't sell. Either one. And rode them back down to my initial or close to 0.
Having again been burned on crypto, i kept still until late in the year, where i finally remembered LINK, and started increasing my old 620 stack. 1k here, 1k there.
An old DOGE investment rode the peak after the election, and allowed me to increase my stack further.
I even took out a $50k loan to buy more, knowing that i can comfortably pay it off even if all should go to zero, given my income.
I bought no matter the price. And finally, today, i invested the final $25k needed to get up to the mythical 10k LINK.
In conclusion, what i want to say is: THANK YOU FUDDIES!
YOU made it possible for even a pathetically slow actor like myself to eventually drag myself up to a suicide stack. While it took an investment of $180k overall to get there, all i am feeling is gratitude.
I didn't deserve low prices. I didn't deserve timing the market. What i did however deserve were those 10k LINK, and soon we will all smile from the same ivory tower, no matter the path that got us here.

I bought 300k LINK in 2017. Traded most for REQ intending to flip back into LINK and instead bagheld REQ to the bottom. Wound up with 46k LINK at the end of the day. Didn't sell a single LINK in the run to $50 or thereafter. Suffered a lot from these choices. Yet, over subsequent years I was able to get to 56k LINK total. I have to believe in the end the suffering and pain will have made me more humble and should I get the chance at financial freedom I will be a better person than I would have been cashing out several million basically for doing nothing.
In the meantime I've had 2 beautiful kids and have learned to appreciate my family above all. I am actively seeking to downsize cost of living so even if I don't make it from LINK I can work less in the near future and spend more time with them. If I make it within the next year or two I will get to still experience their childhood, but my daughter is already showing signs of pre-pubescence and I know I don't have long. Still, if I can be there full time for them before they're corrupted by society I know I will be able to make them feel secure and confident in the world. This is my dream.

I only have 100k Link which is nowhere near enough to actually make it.
All these Linklets with 10k stacks singing about 1k eoy are starting to piss me off with their propaganda. It was a joke and they are actually believing it and causing FOMO in newfags preventing the dump. Link is only going to $60 max. Right now I might make 6M before tax on that, but tax will take a big chunk out of that then inflation will fucking ruin me over the next decade.
Even if I chuck the 6M into a dividend stock that pays out well and I get 300k a year of it, it's not enough to beat inflation unless I basically live in poverty as a neet and keep my wagecuck job in the meantime so I don't have to sell any retirement Link. In 10 years that 300k a year will feel like 60k a year. You need a minimum of 5M, but more likely 10M to make it. The upper predictions for Link were about $80 but that was made during the bullrun of last year, and it assumed that the overall crypto market cap would still be expanding and BTC would go on to 1MM a Bitcoin and that we would be in a full blown crypto FOMO hype bubble when mainnet came out and we got our price singularity. All of that isn't going to happen.
