What do? I bought a dividend stock yielding 4.36% but the stock price went down and now the divvy is 5.13%. Am I fucked? Should I sell my shares locked in at 4.36% and buy back in for the larger divvy? Eating a small loss now for larger divvy gains in the future seems like the right play

Calm yourself you fucking sperg. I by no means am saying taxes in the EU are handled better than in the US, I fucking hate our system, our income tax and mandatory health care is ridiculously high. But according to a quick google search, in the US, short term capital gains are taxed according to your income bracket, which can be a lot higher than what it is here. SOXL bros we just keep winning.
For just a singular moment yesterday, I thought maybe I should sell. Then I remembered none of this matters. The tariffs don't matter, the fact that the market has been up for days doesn't matter. All that matters is the line will continue to go up.
Checked this morning and SOXL is now higher than its most recent high it reached last week.
We just keep winning SOXL brothers.

That is for long term holdings. In the US, profits you make from selling after a year or less qualify as short term holdings, which are taxed according to your income bracket and there is no free amount. So yes, overall the US has way better tax laws than Europe does, especially for long term investing. But if you are trading and not just buying and holding and you are in a high income bracket in the US, you are paying a higher capital gains tax than I do at 26%.

And everything is automatic, I don't need to fill in anything, and certainly not hire a tax accountant or whatever they are to fill unintelligible paperwork like Burgers often have to do. I literally just have to click "next", "next", "next" and then my tax declaration is over. And if the bank or the broker made an error in my favor, which happened to me, then whatever, it works anyway.

Its a question of how much will I get in the market versus how much am I losing in interest on a 15 year note with those kinds of rates. It seems insane to me that I can do a 5-digit order on IBKR and they charge me like €4.40 less than a sandwich

Local bank brokerages here charge 0.5% of the trade if you do it over the app or 1% if you call them.

Also, when tracking my portfolio using Exirio, it automatically pulls a price for each date which you can change manually. Every single trade I've ever done on Revolut or my local bank has been overpriced - I've always paid more than the average and sold for less than the average. With IBKR it's the opposite. I don't fiddle with the settings I just press the buy button but it always has a better price.

How is the fine not already priced in? We've known about it for months, and it's a relatively small dent in a company that has $278.13 billion in revenue. The amount of searches increased by around 20% last year despite all the dooming over AI, and Gemini is improving. The anti-trust is the only real concern, but the market is forgetting that nothing ever happens.

Everyone knows dollars are fake and gay. People can't afford higher rent and houses anymore and all the browns with money have already relocated to first world countries so real estate is cooked. The market stopped being an investment in growth (growth no longer exists) and has become a place to park your cash so you don't lose 20% of it every year holding treasuries paying 5% while governments print money.

We are now in a golden bull where the market will never go down but you will never make any money.

No idea, I am only into momentum trading stocks. I wouldn't invest in real estate either way as it's too long term of an investment. Stocks are much less of a hassle to manage as you can be in and out at the click of a button.

In fact, if you really want to invest in Croatia, check out how Crobex has been acting. It broke out of a decade and a half long consolidation (along with Slovenia), so we might be looking at a multi-year bull market going forward. The weekly charts show amazing persistence, so these markets should be easy to trade too.

I'd be putting money into it myself if I wasn't so heavily into euro defense stocks.

The fine would be nothing compared to the sheer profits that are being produced and the cash they have. It has to be fears of the company being completely broken up due to US anti-trust, but I donΒ΄t even think that is a bearish case. Shareholders just get the successful parts of the company as single parts and they become more efficient. Likely what is happening is that large funds are keeping away from the shares due to the risk. We can take the risk on, but large funds canΒ΄t go full port into them because there are fears that it would completely rape millions of people.

Solar is getting dirt cheap, the problem is you have to get it from China.

I was reading an FT article the other day.
China dumped excess solar panels in Pakistan and now people just do solar + battery and disconnected from the grid. The poor can't do that so they bear the costs of maintaining the grid and power plants, so power prices have shot through the roof.

The issue with solar is that it looks dirt cheap now but it just gets cheaper and cheaper every year so it's better to wait? At some point it'll be ridiculous not to do solar though.

That's nowhere near enough to retire. It's not even close.

I would only consider retiring if I had a fully paid off house (to lock down my expenses as much as possible) and a portfolio big enough where a 3% annual withdrawal is equivalent to an "upper middle class" salary - adjusted annually for inflation after the first year.
I know the "rule" is 4% but that has a small chance to fail. I'm not taking that chance.

The problem is the pedophile ring was establish a blackmail organization of massive proportions. If one of them goes down, it will bring down all the others as well, and that's what they're trying to prevent. It will be the literal collapse of all organizations, and all because someone at some point said "hey, if we get this dude to fuck a kid, we can control them" (the IDF)

You people think multibillionaires with a fleet of expert lawyers would end up in jail because their name is written on some list? Pff... they didnt have enough evidence to hold Diddy. The list is just for the social media posting and shaming, legally it would go nowhere.
