Its constant crybaby propaganda.

Pic rel. literally showed his P&L before. He's a single male, making $35k/yr and he's able to afford a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home (I think it's 980 sqft), so literally a 1950s house. He also owns a truck with a monthly payment and he's still able to afford a house.

That's $17/hr.
>BUT I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN THE RURAL MIDWEST!!! REEEEEE!!!!!!
Then stay poor retards. Most of you are Asocial NEET shut-ins anyways, so why the fuck would you care?

Walmart starts you off at $17 - $18/hr in poor rural areas anyways. If you can't handle stocking shelves for 8 hours a day in an air-conditioned building, then you don't deserve to own assets, period.

It's bad but unironically not in the US. Wages are high and housing is fucking cheap on a global comparison.

For example take the UK, $15 an hour is literally what our doctors start on and the average house is £280k for a terraced 2 bed.
Anonymous (ID: 6mbQA0xk) No.60596660 >>60596743
>>60596601
To add more detail:

The average UK house is £291,000 ($395,544) for an average size of 1012 sq ft. The average US house is $503,800 taking the highest value i could find and the average size is 2233 sq ft.

So a UK home is $390 per sq ft, a US home is $225 per sq ft.

Add to that salaries and when currency is made equivalent a US worker earns about 50% more for the same job as a UK worker. None of this is really unique to the UK, it's the same for most of western europe.

You just readjust. My wife and I both have high end jobs and work around 50 hour weeks on average, we have a reasonably nice home here but without doubt an american would consider it unlivably small and semi-detached an insult too far.

However it still stands that the american economy is great and eminently liveable. If you're struggling with home ownership in the US quite frankly you're fucking up and I think a lot of the people doomerposting about it straight up don't work at all.

Yeah they are pretty small, even having off-street parking is a relatively high end feature.

Another thing people should consider is that US homes have also gotten a lot bigger over the decades. In 1950 the average house size in the US was 983 sq ft. So even if nothing else had changed you'd expect house prices to have 2.3x on that alone.

Nobody does jobs in person anymore. Go on Indeed, go on LinkedIn and read a bunch of articles on how to make a good profile. Go to your government's jobs posting website. Go to the employment office because these people literally get paid to find you something to do. You have a degree, so forward your resume and CV to recruiters because businesses pay them to find talent. Unless you work in tech it's bad out there, but not THAT bad.

You all are dumb and lazy and entitled.

My friends half autistic kid learned welding as a 14 & 15 year. Joined the union as an apprentice at 16, that summer a local hvac & plumbing company hired him FT as a shop welder for $35/hr. That is $1400/week; $70k a year. Once he gets 1500 hours in, union reguired he get a 10% bump.

Get a skill and shut up.

Also, why do you think you deserve an average house? Ignoring the difference between avg and median, it means there are at least half the houses in any market that are below the avg. Why aren't you buying one of the houses in the 8th decile? Why are you special that you have to move up to the 5th decile?

Companies are currently downsizing. After they're finished downsizing, they will have hiring freezes for god knows how long.

This same shit happened back in 2008-2011. People I knew who managed warehouses and fast food restaurants told me that any time they had a position open, hundreds of applications would come in, most of them being professionals with degrees up the ass and years of professional experience looking for ANY job to help pay the bills and keep a roof over their heads

They're probably not. Even during good times like half the job ads at any given time are for non-existing positions and only serve as advertisement for the company

I lived in a Semi Detached in Ireland, 5 bedroom, multiple bathrooms (en suites and full). It honestly felt like a closet still. The driveway could barely fit one Ford Fiesta. The backyard (garden) was tiny and fully walled in. Everything is the same just like a size smaller. It was alright for awhile but eventually I missed home. Certain things I never got used to or enjoyed like the low water pressure, and turning the immersion heated on before a shower. Or forgetting to turn it off after.

The average house in the US postwar era were also that tiny. I'm gen X and just looked up on Zillow the house we lived in when I was a kid, it's a 3 bedroom 1 1/5 bath house with carport, 1200 sqft, est market value $50k. No central HVAC, you get window units and space heaters and you'll like it. The house my mom (born just before ww2) grew up in is also still there (her sister inherited it and still lives there), it is 1250 sqft, 3 bedroom, 1 bath with carport, est market value $48k, also no central HVAC.

The problem isn't that houses are expensive, its that you zoomers have very expensive taste in houses. You did this to yourself. It was your choice.

As most people said in thread already there's no where that will give you 48 hours when they can pay two people not overtime for 24/hours a week.
Having been raised in a working-poor household this shit 'works' until a car breaks down or someone gets injured or sick for even two weeks, and then you're in the credit hole.
On the one hand credit can drag you out of poverty, and it's good that poor people can get loans. But at the same time enabling easy credit has led to debt-trapping that only gets worse every year

Theres some passthrough rate of the combined employer + employee payroll taxes that isn't 1 (ie. if we got rid of payroll taxes, your salary wouldn't increase exactly by whatever the payroll taxes were) but you're right to a first-order approximation. The cap on payroll taxes is really dumb. Reminds me of when my town implemented a flat $3/paycheck fee on all workers. Didn't even matter what frequency you were paid at. Notable stock market crashes between 1960 and 2025

Several significant stock market crashes and downturns have occurred between 1960 and July 2025:

Kennedy Slide (1962):A flash crash in 1962 saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average fall by 5.7%, the second largest point decline at that time.Bear Market of 1970:Rising inflation, increasing interest rates, and the Vietnam War led to a 36.1% decline in the S&P 500 over 20 months.1973–1974 Stock Market Crash:Dramatic increases in oil prices, the miners' strike, and the downfall of the Heath government in the UK triggered a global downturn lasting 23 months.Black Monday (1987):On October 19, 1987, the Dow Jones Industrial Average experienced its largest single-day percentage decline, falling 22.6% (508 points),according to EBSCO. This crash is often attributed to a combination of factors, including program trading, portfolio insurance, index arbitrage, and worsening economic indicators like the US trade deficit.Dot-Com Bubble Burst (2000):Excessive speculation in internet-related companies led to a sharp decline in the NASDAQ Composite index, which fell 78% between March 2000 and October 2002, erasing significant gains from the preceding bubble period.Global Financial Crisis (2007-2009):This crisis, considered the most severe since the Great Depression, stemmed from a boom and bust in the housing market, loose credit, and rampant speculation. It led to a protracted economic contraction known as the Great Recession, resulting in millions of job losses and a significant decline in household wealth.

The S&P 500 experienced its biggest week of gains in more than four decades following the Federal Reserve's aid packages.

No, most likely old-stock actually. He just has a severe case of conservative boomerism.

It's funny though, all these "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" people that tell you to put in honest work in fast food/convenience stores never actually followed their own advice. They usually work for think tanks and only got their position through backdoor networking (re Chris Rufo). Or, in the case of Murray, he was accepted into the elite milieu of Harvard at 18 and has basically spent his entire life in research. But even if you embrace a 'sucks to suck' attitude and proclaim it's no one else's fault that you're not smart enough to get into elite schools or have powerful social connections, if you're honest, you have to admit that even honest work is more difficult nowadays due to social erosion brought upon by the radical left during the latter half of the 20th century. There is no honest work anymore in the Norman Rockwell sense, managing a fast food joint for high school/college kids on summer break, or working at a convenience store and shooting the breeze with morning commuters over coffee every morning. The high school and college kids were replaced with criminals with neck tattoos, and all the convenience stores have been taken over my cliquish Indians. Murray of all people should know this considering the research he's done.
