Good morning everyone, I have been investing on some Silver Coins and recently heard about the "Copper Tarifs" from the Big Orange Manโข, I don't feel so good about Copper "Coins" should I just buy some miner stocks instead to quickly profit from the drama?
>>60598918I don't know of any major US copper companies that don't also operate mines outside of the US. Right? Tariffs might benefit their domestic mines but it's going to kill their profits on foreign ones.
also most of our US copper mining companies are owned by foreign countries.
anyways buy Freeport McMoRan
>>60598955Thanks for the tip anon, will take a look on it.
>>60598967the "tip" is given half in jest, I work for them and like the company. I have no idea what their stock is going to do though. Most of their money is made outside the US. All of the best miners operate outside the US. Most of them are based in canada.
>>60598982The first sector is one I'm lacking in my portifolio to be fair, so any direction on mining companies should be enough to give me a north.
I saw a graph that most rare earth minerals are in China, Brazil and India, I do know that Canada owns the majority of brazillian mining operations, should I just go with them then?
I think I won't get interested in chinks nor jeets
>>60599004I can't advise on mining stocks. You might check /cmmg/ on /bant/
for rare earths I know MP Materials has been buying up US rare earths mines. They seem to be doing well as a company but I don't know anything about them personally.

The age of pm is over, now we use fiat, cuz it's better, bitcoin is even better than fiat
I just don't trust the banking system. I don't think the government and Wallstreet actually has any intention of honoring the IOUs they are selling us. This is why I invest in a short squeeze (GME is to 2025 as VW was to 2008), and if that fails then I have physical silver. No sense in trusting index funds until the bond yields implodes and some sort of sustainable financial sanity emerges. Otherwise we're all just tossing money into a black hole. They can't take all this money and spend it on war and then at the same time turn around and pay us back with interest. Someone is getting robbed and at this point it's OBVIOUS it's the bond holders and all of the stress is getting dumped on the dollar.
It's not my problem and I am happy to not have to worry about such things because I keep my purchasing power outside of the fiat-ponzi financial system
>>60599279Answer my question birch

Putting my faith in hard assets is the best thing I've done financially.

Yea, they only live and die owning Treasuries which are all good investments if the U.S. taxpayers all pay $250,000 to the government. Let's all put our money in to these things and hope for the best. You see, money and debt. None of this stuff actually "matters". It's so super-secret and hard to understand that no one actually needs to get it. It just works, somehow, lol!

To help him, he hired a Native American scout.
The two of them set off on their journey to find buffalo.

The soldier scans the area with his binoculars, but sees nothing.

The scout replies, "Ear sticky".

>>60601552Problem is there's a glut of silver and its taxed at a punitive rate
Lmao, the government taxes silver and gold at a punitive rate since they are considered collectibles like beanie babies, so high you are guaranteed to lose if you hold long term.
>Pre-1965 silver coinage, which contains 90% silver and 10% copper, is subject to specific tax regulations. The IRS considers physical holdings in precious metals, including pre-1965 silver coins, as collectibles. When these coins are sold, the gains are subject to capital gains tax, which is up to 37%. This tax rate applies to the sale of precious metals, regardless of whether they are in the form of bullion coins, bullion bars, rare coinage, or ingots. The tax rate depends on your marginal tax rate.

>>60609507The Tudor beasts typically have a way higher premium so I would avoid those unless you plan to keep it for a long time. It really depends on your goals. If you want the best bang for your buck get anything as close to spot as you can, especially if you intend on trading or selling it in the future. If you want to collect and don't mind dropping extra cash for nice stuff, get those specialty coins like the Tudor beasts. The most widely recognized sovereigns are the Silver Eagle, Maple, Krugerrand, Philharmonic, and... one more I'm forgetting. f I'm not mistaken, 483 million ounces of silver were sold yesterday, within an hour, in an effort to stop this breakout in silver.
This short position is now completely underwater, which means that whoever sold those ounces was either an extremely bad trader, or had no intention of making money in the first place.
And since 483 million ounces is 57% of the annual mine supply, I'm assuming there is no physical silver to back this position. This amount is not available for sale, anywhere.

The system wants precious metals anyway. So once the losses get eaten by the plebs, they want PM holders to buy back in to the system as preferred customers. Reality will separate the haves from the have-nots. That will be determined on physical ownership. The world has no need for useless eaters sitting on multi million dollar portfolios collecting checks doing nothing. The system is top heavy, and the super elite need to knock people off the life raft back into the water. That take-down will impact credit assets because that is where the problem lies. The counterbalance will FORCE precious metals higher as a necessary condition that $80TN of assets can't suffer a collapse in purchasing power without it impacting other things in the economy. Capital flows to quality and assets that can not be effortlessly counterfeit will win by default.
