How long do you guys tend to hold your alt coins/meme coins? A few days? Weeks? Months?

t. bought a few days ago with 5 figures and I'm up 20% today (idk if I should sell now or possibly roundtrip the gains)

I don't hold a memecoin for anything longer than a week. 3 days at most usually. Things move quick.

I have price targets and I hold them until they are reached and then I sell in stages. It's a pretty basic strategy really.

Why not sell 30% then if it dips use that 30% profit to buy more, or just add it to btc?

that's the goal, but wouldn't add to btc at this point until we hit rock bottom bear market. I don't think we have long.

the only reason to buy altcoins/shitcoins/memecoins is as a capital gains loss off-set for your large BTC stack. when you sell you owe taxes on gains but any losses offset that. so if you are going to pay $5k in taxes anyway you might as well gamble it on shitcoins. I'd rather pay some chud buying Pepe than the IRS.

well be careful with that, I waited for BTC to hit 90 or 95k.. sometimes it's better to just buy it no matter what and hold. Same with my alts, sold them all hoping to get a bigger stack before btc exploded but now have no bags

Huh didn't even think about that. I sold all my BTC last Dec when we broke 100k. I dumped most into index funds and maybe 30% into cash, which I've just been sitting on. What do you recommend doing? I was thinking of just flipping volatile large caps until it looks like the market is done, then back to all in btc for the next few years.

I mean, you can just buy next dip, sell the next top. As long as you make money, then who cares if you timed things perfectly? We're all betting we'll be the ones buying low, selling high at some point, anyway.

ye you need some discipline doing that tho.. u don't wanna buy dip at -5%, buy dip, buy dip etc. General rule is sell 20% at +15%, another 20% at +30%, if it drops from +15% rebuy at -10%. Buy dips -10% etc etc

Are u taking out withdrawal to ur bank in large sums? You could use crypto cards etc for purchases but ideally try to only take out 1000 or less a week or they will start to notice

I don't hence why I'm still here. I never get greedy though if there's a 2 or 3x I sell. I'm not trying to find 10000x moonshots.

I literally just bought when things indicated oversold and just sold at overbought. I had a stop loss for 5% down. I would have lost a grand, but that's ok. I could have tried again another time. Your method seems like catching a falling knife.

so you're looking at really tiny coins? I've got mid 5 figs liquid so can't really ape into something that's not at least a billion mc without slippage. I wouldn't want to buy anything I can't put stop losses on either.

ye but with my method I use 1X at the start, only using leverage to buy dips when not paid then add to keep it 0 or near. It's money that I ignore so even a temp 1k loss doing this shouldn't matter once there's no liq or very little.
