I know this is not a board for this type of thing, but unfortunately I have nowhere else to turn.

My country, Bulgaria, is the poorest member of the EU and currenly on it's way of becoming a full member, with the final step being to adopt it's currency - the euro.

However, as seen in other countries that adopted the euro, inflation and unlawful price hikes are becoming more and more commonplace. Adding the fact that Bulgaria is one of the lowest paying countries to make a life in and one of the most corrupt in the world, and you can see why I'm here typing this.

The Bulgarian government is saying everything is under control but when I walk into the store all I see is prices constantly going up and life getting worse by the day. It's been that way for decades, in fact.

Life is becoming harder than it already was, and I'm struggling to pay the bills, among living a normal life.

What I'm asking for is support in going through these tough times and in hopes of seeing my home country become a normal one, not the false image that the Bulgarian politicians have been advertising and promising to Bulgarians for 35 years.

Oh you're in for a ride. I was unemployed when we swapped to the EUR. Studying and barely getting by with grandmothers' help. My income hadn't changed, but my purchasing power was sliced in half at first, and then further in the coming months. Most shit I could get from bakeries only 2.5 years ago for less than 1 EUR is now 4-7 EUR. Went through hell for two years to finally have a competitive salary for my country. Honestly not worth it, just move west and make decent money even if you're overqualified for what you do.
