I have a very shitty portfolio of $12000
Is it a sound idea to grab $1000 for a motorcycle? I wanna start riding and feel cool and shit. I'm on the older side (30+) and have a pretty shitty life overall, maybe with that I'll be able to go to places.

Has riding changed anyones life here? Last time I did it it felt fuckin amazing

ngmi you're gonna crash and burn (literally and figuratively). Get your priorities together. Go back to school or something. 12k at 30+ is poor in India.

It's worth it, ignore the fags. Maybe get a Grom? Good learner bike and high skill ceiling as you can use it to learn wheelies and other tricks. You could also get an old dual-sport bike used, if you wanted to ride dirt too (which is a whole different discipline). You should be able to find one of these used for cheap: DR650, KLX250/KLX300, CRF250/CRF300, XT250, XR650, DRZ400, DR300.

If you can accept the fact that you are guaranteed to crash, then do it. Most people get their crashes out of the way as a kid on dirt bikes....good luck as an old guy eating shit on pavement

My folio is only 15k, also 30, I got a bike 2 years ago and while it hurt financially it’s been a lifesaver, I may have killed myself from depression if I didn’t get one. Spent last year riding around the entire united states and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done next to 2 years in Australia.

Holy fuck to the guys calling bikefags, fags, honestly kill yourselves.
I hate bicycles. Never liked them and on the last time I rode one I broke a bone. Not a fan of motorcycles either, don't know how to ride one and would never try unless pressed by extreme need, plus my father broke his elbow in a nasty way in a stupid fucking life-changing accident that would have been easily prevented had he worn a fucking jacket.
And still, I get the allure. It's the closest thing an everyday joe gets to flying under his own power. Freedom, feeling the wind upon you.
So go back to yanking it to futa porn or whatever it is you do for fun, you're hardly any better. Let the niggas enjoy their fucking hobby.

you're not wrong anon, anyone who is called to walk the tightropes of life should, but there is absolutely a crevasse waiting for them to fall into. i can't speak for all the other anons in this thread, but i will say, be safe, because you must be willing to accept the risks. shit happens and life is short bros, ride safe

That would be a blessing for OP though, I mean look at how objectively terrible and depressing his life is. The sweet release of dying in a motorcycle crash would be a marked improvement

No i wasn’t doing the coastal touristy bullshit i was in the outback
Didn’t even step foot on bondi beach, spend maybe 4 days tops in a major city, the only typical tourist thing I did was dive on the barrier reef and fuck a Chinese girl

I wonder what it is with 4chan in particular and hating motorcycles, I’m assuming it’s because it takes an ounce of responsibility and backbone to ride one.

the injury statistics are highly skewed by retards without a license and 0 bike experience riding 50 in a 20 zone and, not knowing how to turn, go straight in the first corner of their lives. Wear gear, always, have a dashcam, and ride like everyone is a fucking retard wanting to kill you, which they are, and you’ll be fine. I’ve done track and road my whole life and the only people i know who have gotten into accidents have done so on track trying to chase numbers. This is especially true if you’re in whiter countries where people know how traffic laws work. Like Norway (some parts are still immigrant free)

Because they are faggot nerds (Redditors say the same "donor cycle" shit). Fag nerds spend their whole lives with feelings of inferiority, and using their mildly above-average intelligence to rationalize inaction instead of doing something to fix themselves. It's the same thing as "lifters are meatheads", "starting a business is pointless", "chad gets the girls", etc.

Every single thing you said is true. If you don't get drunk, wear gear and take a riding course, your chances of serious injury or death drop drastically. The fags don't care, they just want to criticize. 4chan gets off too easy for being "based" and "honest", when most of the time it's really just a hall of mirrors for socially-stunted men.

ignore all the hylics itt and get yourself a nice small dual sport, something reliable, lightweight and low maintenance. Those bikes are slow so you wont die, and they will take you to nice places in nature and make you happy and stuff.
I have a tw200 and i have a blast everytime i ride it.

Buy the motorcycle and freelance as a courier for a few months. Make that 1k back for just riding around which you were planning on doing anyway.
