If you were broke or on the edge of going homeless, of course you'd be scared and bitter. Also doesn't help when the job market is the way it is at the moment.

As for the ignorant part, yes and no. They have valuable insight on the other side of the rich vs poor side of things and they understand just how extremely difficult it is to say escape 5 figure purgatory (debt and interest are HUGE reasons).

I don't know what specifically you are seething about but generally low functioning people are going to end up poor, it takes a lot of pushing muck uphill in the form of government jobs, redistribution, etc to make it otherwise.

To answer OP, poorfags usually have bad impulse control and cannot think or plan long term. Think about how many people eat out for lunch every day, or get a daily coffee at Starbucks, or things like that. Bad habits that cost them tons of money over their lifetime.

Like I have a mcwagie job, but I managed to save up about $100k over 10 years. My sister is on unemployment and has two kids

One or two creature comforts isn't going to make a difference, but when you have 2-3 daily rituals and half a dozen monthly subscriptions and spend all your money and useless garbage, you're not going to build savings.

Really, the goal is to have your investment income/interest offset as much of your expenses as possible.
