Unrelated, but I also think guillotines have a wonderful aesthetic. I would invest in a company that produced guillotines (for aesthetic reasons).

Whether they hold a cash moat, reinvest into the business, pay a dividend, or do a share buyback, they are creating shareholder value and each choice depends on the company and business cycle. For example, buybacks (from excess cash) are roughly equivalent to tax-free dividends.
When they take debt to do a buyback to shore up the price, that's less great.

Having said that, /smg/ doesn't really care that much for it. Still, learn to use the ATR indicator, it's a measurement of daily volatility over the last 2 weeks.
When price moves 1x to 1.5x ATR in your favor, you could scale out and take like half off the table
Respectfully, what the fuck happened to /smg/ in the 3 years I was gone? Where are the ticker shills?
Before, at least 1/3 of replies were someone trying to creatively sell me a bankrupt fishfarming stock, a battery manufacturer with 'proprietary technology', a Chinese tech start-up with cooked books, or a SPAC mystery box.

>>60691614Facts:
Short term: Ceo shifted over that's revamping the app and going through a rebranding. Updated app is set to be released within the next two weeks and earnings are on the 5th. Nextdoor beat its EPS by a wide margin last quarterly, even though it was set to lose, and it wouldn't surprise me if it does so again.
Long term: Nextdoor will be implementing AI (yeah I know) and location based marketing, allowing local businesses to advertise specifically to those in range. With an AI algorithm, ads will be more catered to the users. Such as recommending places based upon the income of your area compared to spending, frequency of visits, etc.
Opinion:
Dumb boomers use it, and it will harvest data. If it constantly keeps location on like Google and registers locations you go to, it will be able to track the traffic of businesses and collect spending habit data on households, which in turn will lead to catering ads. If Nextdoor implements a service that businesses can sign up to, and locals receive benefits, it would be extremely beneficial. Tracking where people go and how often they frequent establishments in the area could be very profitable, if the business model allows local businesses to specifically reward locals for repeat business, along with having their ads catered to nearby people who already frequent the establishment. Simple psychology of seeing an ad of a place you already frequent and know you like, so seeing ads for it reminds you of how much you like it, and in turn you'll go there again. Add discounts or some shit on top, even more so.
Or, and I guarantee this is the end game, harvest enough data that you can sell the company to Google or some other large entity. Although Google collects analytics on locations, I don't know how much they actually dump resources into tracking habits of locals and their businesses, and the metrics behind them
Good enough for you, retard?

>>60691996i have no fucking clue yet im still taking the weekend to look through a bunch of ai shit but also cheap profitable shit
grok4 is going to make everyone panic and turn ai into a bubble, it's been pretty tame now but we see GOOGLE panicking into ai now because they dont to see fucking ELON MUSK rule the world, i mean everyone's learning ai can do more than expected, i know that personally with ai dashcams not so much outside of it, but so far ai is still following fundamentals (look at TSM and NVDA financials, still lots of growth and earnings still relatively reasonable despite the big valuation increases precisely cause of the massive growth that is still not stopping)
i dont wanna buy 1 trillion dollar companies at this point, eventually the larger companies are just going to buy out smaller companies to expand that's going to raise the tide for EVERYONE then it'll be a full blown bubble as more people rush into ai out of fears of missing out and letting ELON MUSK rule the world if they dont do anything
im looking into AMPL as well besides CXDO
but of course let's not forget the basic bargain (hopefully not value traps) that are cheap and also making good money with decent growth so alos looking into VTSI and TPCS boring companies
IMP.TO also looks interesting if they land the potentially $200m indonesian contract + hunger comes in from other countries for more but i dont like how it already 5x'd recently. lots to fucking do this weekend to gain the conviction to drop some money, they are going to do whatever they want no matter what i do, i only have like 20k to 30k cash for now until i figure out whats going on with ai dashcams then ill prob raise like 100k+ more cash later on before thanksgiving

>>60692103I'm buying crypto atm. I see potential there.
Specifically Coins of Chains that work with "Ondo" (Blackrock backed etc). It's about RWA (Real World Assets). Tokenization of everything that is physical. There is much to tokenize and maybe there is money to be made with the coins. In the meantime I stake them, some I can even countertrade/hedge on CFD platform earning intest cause shorting yields interest currently (on some brokers)
For example, I bought Aptos and short it on CMC.
Aptos is also "backed" by big corps, MSFT iirc.
I also bought Plume (Network). For RWA, building a network. Have "Nest" which seems to get traction in South East Asia.
And a bit of Sei (More Gaming and Defi, less RWA, but could be big in China, cause DappRadar says even though there's less users on this chain than on others (UAW), they are transfering $9Billion in 7d with 8Mil transactions). Probably Asian whales.
And Mantle (also with Ondo), there's also people with money, actually quite a lot less Users than Sei but $5Billion Volume.
Thinking about Injective, but still reading. Injective has an insane amount of Transactions 208Mil

>>60692144ive gone to 500k now on my tfsa since starting with 5k only in 2020 and i still feel like i missed out a lot, in fact yes i did miss out on a lot but you do the best you do with the information you have on hand
theres no fucking way to explain in just a few replies you're basically on your own to learn this shit, all i can say is use an ai like perplexity to ask questions
if you see someone talking about cagr or peg or eps or book value whatever, plug in a question in ai to answer your question better than traditional googling
/smg/ kinda shit nowadays but back in 2020 it was mania and i learned a lot just by lurking and googling terms i didnt understand
you can gamble on shit, or put money on some revelation you have (bitcoin seems like a gamble but in the context of ppl living in argentina or turkey when their currency was dropping like a fly and they cant buy USD or gold or US stocks, crypto was unironically a safehaven like gold for store of value) or maybe you just buy businesses that are at a good value, just remember to ask ai what a value trap is lol
the best analogy is, if you're buying a stock of an actual business giving decent returns, it's not much different from buying real estate to rent out as a landlord, it's not just going to go to $0 overnight, and likewise if the apartment is a shitty 300sq ft 1 bedroom condo being sold for $400k and you can only rent it out for $1k/month then it's a shitty value. Likewise the same for overvalued stocks/businesses
learn to value and be confident, doing research is finding the conviction that what ur buying is a good value and that u wont panic sell coz u know u got it for a good deal, likewise when ur house goes down in value u dont panic do u?

>>60692107Throw it in Robinhood to get 4x leverage on margin so youโll have 240k buying power and into NVDA for earnings the week after next. Wait until MSFT META AAPL AMZN report this week and if they show increased AI spend (they will) for capex and go up (3/4 probably will not sure about Apple) then you should be good to go full tilt and ride NVDA to 200 by next quarter and earn roughly (30/share). @ 240k current price 173 that nets you 1387 shares and a $30 increase is roughly 40k which is not bad return for a 3-4 month hold. I would also wait until 8/1 after the tariff deadline to see if we get a selloff but more likely we just see it get pushed to Labor Day 9/1 or euro to cuck and get a 15% deal like Japan before then (Trump is meeting with Ursula in Scotland this weekend)

>>60692203Have not heard of it. Upon googling I found it's goldbacked. And that it is supposed to be a stablecoin. I don't think you can really "invest" into that. Stablecoins also are 1:1 real money.
Like USDT (Tether), one Token/Coin is 1USD.
And I assume KAU will also just move in accordance with gold. So it will move with Gold mostly, I assume. It's for people that want to "invest" in gold, digitally on crypto.
The difference with the Tokens I gave is that these token/coins are part of the ecosystem, the chain, the platform and are used for gasfees, transactions, governance etc. So there would demand as a driving force for price changes depending on the success of the platform/chain. And that success depends on what DeFI and/or RWA they provide. Those tokens are the "fuel" for the chains. The products are the RWA (Ondo brings them) or Blackrock and others (picrel).
KAU is an isolated currency essentially, that tracks Gold. KAU is the product that can be traded.
See picrel. Aptos.
Has +500million in RWA (left table) spot No.3
Right table shows what their assets is in general. Also has almost a billion in stablecoin USDT.
PACT for example is an RWA.
Down below you see "assets". There's Stablecoin and the individual PRODUCTS (KAU would also be listed there).

Nobody gives a shit about the citizenry anywhere, its about the rich, and the rich can only stay rich if they keep this massive shell game going, which the US is more integral to.
The citizens in your nation might want the US to fall but no government has ever given that much of a shit about the citizens.

"Protocol" is where you can trade them. Protocol is basically the company that provides that asset.
But Network is how you can access them. And how you can transfer those assets and buy etc. They are connected to that. Maybe I got it also a bit wrong. My head is a bit exploding from all the research.
Maybe it's all also just a scam and unnecessary, lol.

Now, those coins currently probably are overvalued. The question is, if you buy them now, will they at least stay at this price or go up or will they tank despite the demand?
On the other hand, those coins are not just a currency. You get voting rights. That could change in the future, but I guess when that happens there'll also be a selloff. But most Chains with tokens also have a governance section where they explain voting rights and right to make a proposal to changes, like for example if coins are to be burned more often or other stuff. >>60690752Not really, no. It's perfectly diverse, as any 1st world economy should be. You're looking at the raw number the wrong way. It functions differently than the US. Spending only seems high because the french state distributes the pension, and assume the entire healthcare system, instead of having it privatized. There's no free meal of course, it does so through the collected taxes and levies, but what that does is artificially makes up a large part of the state's spending compared to a country that simply lets its citizens manage it themselves with private entities.
As far as production go, what matters and what constitutes its GDP, France is perfectly diverse and healthy, no imbalance like for, say, oil/energy producers or agriculture oriented economies having their economies built on a single asset. Eggs, same basket, etc.

With car sales slowing down, some automakers here are offering very low interest finance.
For example Citroen does 0% on all their cars and Ford does 1% interest on their smallest car, 3% on the others. I imagine more will follow soon.
Is it always a mistake to finance a car even when the interest rate is 0%? I have never been in debt before.
Is it a mistake to commit to a car when the carmakers are this desperate? Isn't it a sign that prices are about to aggressively correct?
I think I could beat 3% interest with my money invested instead. But I don't like the idea of debt.
