I recently achieved 500 ounces of silver but I think Iβm done buying. I have my stack in case shit really goes bad so imo itβs not really worth adding more to that. Better off putting my excess fiat into stocks for now, even considering buying BTC if it comes down some.

I'm good with that... not done buying.
Here's a hoot - got a call from an ebay dealer I've never bought from, and they offered a $5 coupon because I was such a good customer. I asked how long the coupon was good for. 1 week. I said I probably won't be buying for several. Said that was too long.
I suspect that's an indicator they're trying to dump inventory. I suspect prices are going to continue downwards for a while.

>During times of monetary stability, coins would regularly circulate for well over a century in the ancient world.
>The only reason many coins stopped circulating was because the currency became debased and people started hoarding the old ones.
Interesting how the biggest consequence of the debasement of money in both ancient and modern times is that it severs people's connection to their country's history by taking away monetary stock that had circulated for ages.

Keeping copper pink is tricky. It oxidizes super fast and easily. Even in a sterile environment, a fingerprint will provide enough corrosive material to change the surface color.
A solution I've found works is to use archive-grade plastic sleeves for paper sheets, and seal the bars (with as little space for air inside as you can) with a heat sealer (like for sandwiches or meats). Pic related. The archival plastic leeches no gas to stain the Cu. The trick is in getting the seals air-tight. If you can't, then you can use clear tape to cover the seams you make.I've had bars stored like this for a decade and they're still perfectly pink.
I've also used the food plastic designed for the heat sealer on my big bar (10kg), and that seems to be working as well. It hasn't been sealed as long as the rest, but it's been impressively long (a year?).

Just waiting for the price of silver to drop a bit more so I can stack up more. I am in tax heavy state and I hate it anon. Wild seeing the price action we've been seeing. 5 years ago we wouldn't see it move this much up or down in such a short period. Are you going to stack more anon? you're just a pain in the ass really. if you cant afford an ounce, you aren't ready to invest in metals and need to focus on increasing your income. so sad to see poorfags collecting (yeah collecting, not investing) in silver and copper. buy gold and nothing else.

>why
To hold value outside the fiat system. If your wealth is in fiat, it can be stolen by kikeflation, and if it is deposited in a bank it supports fractional banking and usury, and if it is spent on most housing it profits the speculators. In physical silver you have a liquid commodity in exchange for fiat, while symultaneously undermining the speculation of jΓΌden, by removing inventory from the exchange vaults, thus increasing their risk of default.

at that time society was divided into criminals and good people, with no real crossover. All you had to do was pass a law and 90% of americans would immediately obey.
the remaining 10% were probably in prison and didn't have any gold anyways.
now probably less than 10% of americans are law-abiding, and almost everyone is a criminal.

rather than making gold worthless, it made it far more desired and accessible to most americans. They just had to spend it as fast as they got it since they weren't allowed to keep it.

it's quite simple. It meant the US government was a GUARANTEED BUYER of any gold you mined. They didn't confiscate it, they bought it.

50% silver is actually much cheaper to refine than 90%, so from that standpoint it's probably a good deal.
when refining 90% silver you usually need to melt it down and dilute it down to 50% or lower before it can be refined.

I didn't know that you had to dilute silver to purify it.
I guess it isn't that bad of a purchase all things considered.
I guess the only downside left is that it might be difficult to unload in a barter scenario, but if the price of Silver goes up enough, foreign coins like those will become more recognizeable.

The 2025 Quadriga from the Berlin Mint. They just started shipping to the US again. I like the design for this year. Pretty unique, imo.

This time it's different.
We're done.
>According to Marathon Fusion β a company dedicated to the development of fusion energy components β a tokamak fusion reactor can not only produce limitless clean energy, but five tonnes of gold out from mercury for every gigawatt (~2.5 GWth) of electricity generated.
Put simply, the method is similar to one proposed to allow reactors to manufacture their own tritium fuel. This is done by lining the reactor vessel with a layer of lithium. When the lithium absorbs a neutron from the fusion reaction, it splits into an alpha particle and a tritium atom. If you replace the lithium with the very common mercury-198 isotope (or better yet, a lithium/mercury alloy), a fast neutron will turn it into unstable mercury-197. This then undergoes an electron decay that turns into (ta da!) gold-197. Oh, and there's tritium as well, if you're using the alloy.

It's the latest take on "asteroid made of gold" and "Gazillion ton gold deposit found in Bassackwardstan". It is probably intended to throw a wet blanket on gold prices, but all it really does is explain how gold can continue to be useful as money for a thousand years. The fact that gold is effectively infinite in the universe but will always require energy to produce or extract in pure form means it will always have a God-given governor on the increase in its supply.

So you get some mercury-198, which exist only as 10% of naturally occurring mercury and must be separated from other isotopes in a slow and tedious enrichment process using expensive, sophisticated, and tightly regulated centrifuges. Then you irradiate this expensive and toxic raw material in a fusion reactor that still doesn't exist in a usable form despite decades of research around the world and hundreds of billions of dollars thrown at the problem. And you get endless quantities of gold! So says the company that is trying to get investor funding. They will be mining asteroids first.

I think you know better than that. First, we need a hundred or so years of redeemable (with exorbitant fees, of course) gold backed (((cbdc's))) fractionalized as well, of course, for your good, naturally.
Then comes the digital distopia executions of cyber criminials and merging of man with machines to reduce cyber crime (they created). Oh, of course, to also simply survive.
Lastly the great "natural disaster" destroys all tech, killing millions of cyborg freakshow transgoons.

Man, I'd love to get into shooting again. My local range sucks. It's 35 minutes one way out in the middle of nowhere. There's a toilet, that exists as a hole in the ground with some walls around it. All of the stalls are super close to each other too. So if some asshole next to has a side-compensating muzzle break, that's a bunch of hot gas directly into your face. Got plenty of ammo stashed, but haven't been able to play with it.

The reality isn't that they/them get on my "nerves". I see the spiritual (words) of bad faith, otherwise known as "doubt" the proverbial " Did God really say?" dichotomies and remember when I too was helplessly and hopelessly decieved. There's a special place reserved for those who choose this path, God is not mocked. We'll all reap whatever we have sown. Honestly I hope they feel the burning now rather than for eternity.
>Every day you just start to hate them more and more because of their own actions.

I honestly lean into loving them moar and prat that they are delivered fully over to the tormenting deciever now so that they come to repentance.

They're not broke because they can revalue gold. That necessarily means they do so by devaluing the dollar.
Historically speaking, when gold was revalued back in 1933 fro $20.67 to $35 (a 69% loss in purchasing power) - Even owning gold-backed cash was not enough to save you. It was those who owned the physical metal that avoided a massive loss of purchasing power.
This event is precisely what will happen again. The government already loses $1TN per year in interest alone, and all of the borrowing we did is on the shorter end of the curve. So almost all of the debt is being refinanced at higher rates. Meaning that we are not even all that far off from 100% of all government tax receipts being paid out in interest alone. Without a single dollar left over to pay for anything else. The only way they can kick the can is rapid and drastic dollar dilution. That dollar dilution will also come with extreme austerity as well as higher taxes. Easy and free money days are over.

It's only reasonable that we hold them to account then.
Even the kiddie diddling Christian killing high priest's son Saul became Paul on the road to Damascus, and when the day came for him to return to God, he was welcomed because his testimony was true having seen the light.
None of us are perfect, but we all can do better, and if you truly care, you will not spare a brother's emotions for facts. Even the poo people are doomed by their culture of generational curses. Imagine growing up in that environment. Imagine having to sit for hours in a call center that smells like grilled onions from in n out 80hrs a week lying to people to make ends meet.
I truly pity them.

If only digital digits in the etherical cyberspace could "satisfy" one's insatiable hunger like tangible atoms of silver and gold can. Not just electrons, but protons and nutrons as well making up useful elements of noble metals that enable the computing to manage the ledgers of hypothetical rehypoticaed hysteria IQPAJEET Bob suffers from.
Someone should educate him where the word "assets" comes from and what it actually means. Then, remind him that owning nothing and being happy is the definition of stocks, bonds, currencies, paper, or digital by definition and decree of those of superior intellect and will.
Perhaps he will see the light too one day that words really do matter and matter has a weight and without weight it's not an asset.

I've been stacking for decades and watched many come and go in the PM's circles, Chris Dwayne was the last one of the originals to go schizo becoming the merchant while simultaneously being fed stalked into obscurity. There's nothing new to be said that hasn't already been said to death about who, what, when, why, and where the corruption occurs. Now, thanks to machine learning, large language modeling, and aggressive mimicry, all the currency narratives are being farmed out to A.I. algorithms.
I intentionally left a certain word out of this reply and my name to prove my point.

I bought some of the Florida ones, mostly out of curiosity. They are pretty neat but the premiums are basically over 100%. Even the 100 is around 3.3 grams of gold - which would be like $450 bucks? Those 100 goldbacks cost like $700.
I still want one out of curiosity and just to complete the set for shits and giggles. But those are abysmal returns and make them more of a collectors item than an investment.

there's no real reason to make that calculation though since they report both mass and price

the anon's point regarding revaluing was that to some extent that gold backs the dollar,
and if they repriced it, the dollar would lose even more value.
The dollar would drop significantly in value if they revalued their gold from $42 to $3300.

>The dollar would drop significantly in value if they revalued their gold from $42 to $3300.
also this would set off a feedback loop
they drop the value of the dollar, which just makes gold go up MORE in value vs. the dollar. So now gold is worth $5k dollars, or $10k dollars. And when they reprice to the new value, the dollar again drops, and gold goes up in value even more.
revaluing the gold reserve has the potential to set off hyperinflation as gold rises and the dollar drops

IQ is not smart enough to understand any of this
/pmg/ at least understands the relationship between paper IOU's and metal. IQ is too stupid for this thread.

can't effectively criticize an idea you're too stupid to understand
IQ's success at trolling and his failure at converting people boils down to the simple fact that he doesn't understand what's going on itt

1.) You never post a portfolio
2.) You don't own a car
3.) All you can afford is cheap, garbage quality food
4.) You don't own a house
5.) You're retarded enough to think that brass is gold
6.) You post the most here every day. Clearly not behavior of someone who's made it
