The modern medical system is a device for transferring money from the patient to the doctor

The joke is that the medical system does more harm than good and most people would be better off not having any involvement with it whatsoever. It stopped being a "service" long ago

Why does a doctor deserve a gigantic collection of Ferraris, a 5000 acre estate and a private jet, while an AI can do his job better*, and a civil engineer has to live in poverty?

> 74% (IQR, 63%-84%) for the conventional resources-only group
> The LLM alone scored 16 percentage points (95% CI, 2-30 percentage points; P=.03) higher than the conventional resources group
The authors didn't want to go further, and they were scared to write the numbers down. 90% patient + old outdated AI, 74% doctor.

Keeping doctors means millions of lives lost per year, millions of destroyed families, tragedies, suffering.

LMAO I just saw they used ChatGPT 4. Imagine what a current model would do.
AND that's doctor + google + DBs, trying to get it right. The normal patient gets a doctor looking down on him, and he's demotivated by having all the riches in the world.

Doctor here, OP is kinda right, we make money when people are sick. So sometimes when someone comes into my office with pain, I dont help them the first time, but only the 2nd or even 3rd, just so I can make bigger profit.

Based. When I was working as a pharmacist, I recommended all manners of vaccines even though I avoid that shit for myself. My incentive was a fatter quarterly bonus. I'm early retired now :)

Actually it’s a device for transferring money from insurance ratepayers to everyone else. Doctors barely make anything. All of the money is in R&D

>do no harm
It doesn't say to who. I prefer doing no harm to me and my bank account, and if that means the keeping the patient sick, well, that's a price I'm willing to pay.

seems like a massive cope. life expectancy charts never adjust for smoking/drinking deaths (lifestyle choices) and they never take into account quality of life. if i had to guess, life expectancy is likely pretty flat over the past 50 years while cost of care has gone through the roof due to flashy nigger technology.
