Almost. Videogame money is more like stablecoins in that they are tied to dollars by a fixed amount (in practice at least). This means as prices go up and the dollar becomes worth less, so do they.

Most cryptos are different in that they are fixed supply. Their value isn't pegged to the dollar and instead is tied to scarcity. This is why Bitcoin increases in value relative to the dollar as more dollars are printed (and the value of each individual dollar is decreased) Even moreso, the supply of Bitcoin will dwindle as people die and wallets get locked forever (so each Bitcoin will become more valuable).

Another important difference between crypto and video game money is security. Your account can be locked, and all of your video game money seized for saying a wrong word. Not the case with crypto, as there's no central authority governing it.

To add to this, from the perspective of fiat, everything gets more expensive over time. From the perspective of btc, everything gets more cheap over time. I'm sure you have seen the meme picture that shows how much btc was necessary to purchase a home back in 2014 up till now.
