I don't want to pay more gains taxes again to my whore govt, but these valuations are making me nervous. I've never used options before, but I want some puts now just in case I get rugpulled. having cash can be prudent, i am still bullish but the market is admittedly expensive (hence why big names like MSFT are pulling back almost immediately after spectacular earnings), BUT that doesnt mean there aren't opportunities still to buy

i had some cash ready on friday that was nice, quick +5-10% swing on those slurps, not sure if i should go back to a prudent cash position or not
if i decide to be risk averse and go back to 30% cash or something, at least i got inflation accounted for on that portion for the next year

question is how much stock/etf do you already have, and do you have a good chunk already in defensive stocks

It's nothing that convoluted. It's very simple. Stock market participation is hitting new records every year. Demand is going up so prices are going up. Retail investors don't know what earnings are or how to even look them up, or any other fundamental for that matter, nor do they care. Most normies still believe "investing in a company" means giving money to that company to help them succeed or something, they literally don't even understand what's happening when they buy stock, where that stock comes from, where their money goes, or how the price is decided. How can an asset class depreciate when such an unshakeable contingent of retards has embraced it?

>Retail investors don't know what earnings are or how to even look them up, or any other fundamental for that matter, nor do they care.
ffs look at whats actually going on the big companies, they are printing money and still growing fast
look who are JUST starting to get into ai shit

there are new solutions that basically allow a company to have the same productivity with 10 people nowadays when they used to need almost 300 people (geospatial intelligence companies), or products that cost like $2m a year and save the customer >$20m per year from fraudulent claims + new revenue sources (my lovely ai dashcams), or new products that are needed agianst increasing fraud aided by ai (i bought IDN on friday for example for this, solutions that cost a customer $5m/year but protect against dozens of millions in fraud), or ai telecommunications, more and more people wont even bother outsourcing to india anymore and frankly an ai robot will prob perform better,
very simple shit, not even gonna get into ai coding or ai build-a-protein because fraankly those are a bit too farfetched imo, im focusing more on straightforward solutions that are already producing value and profit (my favourite being ai dashcams because a single vehicle with a dozen video would have quite literally millions of camera footage hours every year to monitor, eventually that applies to cctv too, ai data centers basically becomes a cheap way to achieve big brother surveillance without having to hire and pay a million humans)
i am NOT going to buy NVDA even if all the big megacaps are rushing to get data centers up and running, NVDA will still go up, maybe +30% who knows i dont care because there will be many opportunities downstream that will be going 2x or 4x by end of 2026 and ive made my bets

>chasing a +11% gain
wtf lol there are shit that already went up +10% since friday
IWM hasnt recovered yet, the smallcaps that augment ai the best in their business are going to be going 2x-4x next year, THEN we can start talking about an ai bubble forming and even then this might just be the end of 1996 not even end of 1999 yet. People were calling the dotcom a bubble as early as 1996 but in the end it didnt even crash down back to 1996 levels when it finally started dipping from end of 1999. If you're too early you miss out on a lot

hint, if bubble pops they usually start from q4 when earnings start shitting the bed. the beautiful trick of hiding all the losses/expenses until the end of the year, i'll definitely be trimming heavily by q3 of 2026, will have to reassess how bearish to be at that point and if there's still value picks to go with

>Assume a NEET has 20k and wants to grow it as fast as possible, but will rope if there is a significant loss.
I think DIVVIEMAXING is the play for such a person but there are significant problems with yield chasing.
I think I figured out how to combat the NAV erosion problems of yieldmax
Cycling divvies from SPYI + QQQI -> ULTY -> MSTY -> ULTY -> MSTY -> SPYI + QQQI
Then periodically stopping the loop to put all the profits into schd, schg, VOO etc. A stock with either dividend growth or share price growth.
The NEET won't need to worry about tax and the overall portfolio will grow despite the NAV erosion.
I feel like you can snowball 20k into 100k pretty quick and relatively risk controlled in 2-5 years.
If tax is a concern, you only pay it once a year.

Because instead of dripping into the eroding YM stocks you're putting the yield into spyi and qqqi that maintain NAV much better. ULTY pays weekly, msty has about double the yield of qqqi etc so it should be a net positive cycle.
The real maintenance comes from buying proper growth/divvie growth/btc.
This keeps ulty and msty fed so they keep the gibs going while NAV and payout inevitability decrease, but your portfolio won't be net negative like it would be if you were only yield chasing.
A 20k starter should grow exponentially in a few years with this.

Is your plan to publish on the web or are you trying to get a deal with Image or Dark Horse or some other indie publisher?
I don't know how hard it is to get a publishing deal in comics but if you can score that it'll be a LOT easier to license to Amazon. Webcomics would obviously give you way more creative control, although a webcomic author I follow has mentioned recently that she's pulling back on nudity a bit to avoid getting trouble from Mastercard. Not that her stuff had tons of nudity in it, but she doesn't want to risk her income over something fairly inconsequential.

dont just work the job, try to maximize it or get a different one if necessary. You may want to stick it out until your are vested, but make you learn and understand what that means in your case, and what if any retirement benefits you have or may qualify for (401k, matching contributions, free medical after 20 years, really anything that is listed as potentially available) and figure out how to maximize it for your situation. Do they pay for school or training, what promotional opportunities are there. Sometimes one pay raise (and keeping your expenses low) allows you to save a lot more faster and if you can invest tax free in a good ETF you will be surprised how fast you can start getting some financial security.

It will erode but not half. YM funds rugpull initial investors but if you get in "late" the price is much more stable.
Compare ulty over the last 6 months vs the last 12.
The erosion is addressed by feeding it with spyi.
All of these funds have laddered yields so its being amplified.

It depends on how you are taxed for overtime, it might be better to get another job, just take the time to figure out what is best. If in the US I recall Trump said something about not taxing overtime, I don;t know the status of that, but also check your local authorities for what taxes they charge. Talk to shop steward and the HR person, get copies of everything you can read it over. I have seem people been at a job 30 years and had no idea what they were goind for the employer but god dam they had a library and did PhD level analysis on their pay, deductions, contributions and had their retirement calculated down to the fucking penny.
