It's called looking up Youtube tutorials on how to fix most shit yourself to save labor. Pretty well-kept secret, I'd say.

Hoomer here, lemme break it down for you

>Lawnmower - $300 push mower, make my brother do it
>Lawnmower repair each year - it has literally never broken in 13 years
>HVAC repair every 5 to 10 years - hvac actually fucked me up, 14k for new oversized unit, 2k for new ducts, I installed returns and pass through myself. That shit still sucks so I figure its an insulation issue
>Roof repair every 10 - 15 years - new roof came with purchase, Im gonna try and wait 30 years, 13 down so far
>Pool upkeep - no pool, we have a neighborhood pool so I just use that(i dont)
>Pool pump repair - see above
>Refrigerator, washing and drying machine, plumbing - never had plumbing issues, I had to replace the washer 3 times because of dummys overloading it but it was 500 ea time, had a shitiy free fridge for years and when that went out I got a deal on a nice lightly used one from a rich blind guy, I dont remember price but it was very cheap
>Repariing the fridge, washing and drying machine and plumbing every 5 to 10 years - see above
>property taxes - is 2% of the purchase price(homesteaded) since I got it before the melt up its basically nothing

The boomers have jacked the prices up so high on everything its not worth it. I bet it all collapses soon. This is what happens when companies have to grow 2%-3% every single year. Wages drop and the prices of everything increases.
