I'm a recruiter and I'm currently looking for multiple EEs. They laugh me off the phone if I'm not talking 200k and above. And these are mid level engineers with 4-8 yrs of experience. Sr engineers start at 350k and go up fron there.

Motion and a second. My entire R&D group got disbanded and rolled into operations a few years ago after I spent literally more than a decade working my way up to finally not be a factory grunt tier engineer. I get paid pretty well for a MCOL, but it's cheap because it's not a fun place to live since nobody wants to live next to a bunch of factories. I'm on track to basically be overpaid factory maintenance. So glad I went for the STEM meme.

When I hit my next million, I'm going to quit and live somewhere nicer until I get over my burnout, run out of money, or die.
