I have decided to stop contributing to my 401k and throw that money into crypto
is this based or no?

As of a few days ago you can throw your money into a 401k with crypto.

Extremely based.
401k's are a massive scam past company match.
I would never max it out.

Because I know what to do with my money far better than the corporation that hired me.

Although I do understand why they exist, and it is a very good thing for workers who have no idea how the system of money works.

if by "crypto" you mean "bitcoin" then yes, even if this is the high you will be in forever profit in less than half a decade (and this is not the high)

at least be semi-retarded instead of fully retarded and put 50% on the safest bet and do with the other 50% whatever your retardation desires?

It depends on how paranoid you are about absolutely everything, I tried to adopt the unicps mindset for a long time and pretend that I didn't know what panic was, only to end up selling everything a week ago
All you need is patience I guess

This is the best risk-adjusted time to do dump your money into BTC (and ETH). It's mainstream now but there's still tons of room to grow. If I wasn't already rich, I would've strongly considered liquidating my 401k and buying more BTC. You should focus on stacking sats so you can be set in the next 5-10 years. You don't need to waste time on stocks or retirement accounts.

You want to get into crypto near the peak of this cycle, when in just 4-6 months the cycle will end and we will dump hard. You’re a braindead monkey following peaks of trends. If you were actually intelligent and concious, you would get into crypto when it’s down, not when it has already pumped.

If YOU werent a braindead monkey you'd buy at highs and lows because the trend is up

Are you just parroting shit you hear from boomers? I have had 5 different retirement accounts through employers and every single one let me put the money in VIIIX or Fidelity equivalents… 457’s and 403’s.
The whole “hurrr my employer doesn’t know how to invest” is fucking weird rhetoric

A 401k is at its core just a tax advantaged investment vehicle. Trump also has opened it up that 401ks will soon be able to offer crypto as an investment option. Employer match on a 401k means you get an immediate 100% rate of return on every dollar invested up to the maximum of the match. You will likely live to 59.5, which is the age you can first start drawing down and you will want/need money then too. Don’t be shortsighted on this. They’re honestly not bad. Just take the match, invest in whatever they offer in terms of low cost indexes (or BTC once available) and leave it at that.

You can buy crypto through your 401k. Unless you are specifically looking to buy certain ones not available. You can get XRP and ALGO and etc. through a self-directed 401k.

my nigga i unironically made 15k in a few days with son (https://jup.ag/tokens/AdxNrCntq6YkYC2qVffF2Fw7WC1UatKhV8J6G4ekgNx3) alone. do keep in mind i've also managed to profit off of pepe, doge (sold a while ago) and im now riding the eth high. it really is not that hard to make good money with crypto relatively quickly if you aren't a complete fucking gullible retard. on the other hand, no savings will fuck you up in the (very) long run so you better perform well or you will regret everything in a few years.

60+ years for an x2 :^)
