Did you forget to include the taxes on income LOL. If u include those on your gross salary. When I earned 330k on personal income HMRC wanted 175k of income tax (got out of it though planning ofc). I was taxed over 100% in some brackets. (remove of Personal Allowance) However, you wouldn't know about this since you are poor.

Can only make decent money running a business in UK & EVEN then you are getting taxed up the ass on VAT/Corp tax (I run one) & you can't pull money from the company outside of the free allowance unless you want heavy personal income taxes.

Basically, get rich without getting rich personally is the UK tax system.

America might be the only place where you would be materially better off, but good luck finding a legal route to migrate there.

People seem to think Canada and Australia are more similar to the US than they are to Britain because of the vast land area, but both countries have higher taxes on income and property than the UK. Let's not even discuss continental Europe which is even worse.
