I'm praying my old data on Bittrex (now defunct) and Gemini never get leaked/sold illicitly. I held a lot of BTC and ETH on those two for years before I smartened up and got a hardware wallet.
I was foolish in my early crypto days and opened up KYC'd accounts on all sorts of shady exchanges to chase shitcoins. My personal info and ID are probably floating around on the dark markets.

Look at how HNWIs structure their assets. They use 3 or 4 entities to have shells and trusts; on paper they have no assets, yet maintain a controlling interest of a paper company they dont technically own, and it holds a trust that pays them a modest salary

>I don't understand why people still do business in India.
It's really pretty incredible how utterly corrupt they are. They will waste weeks of your time on "negotiations" because their own time costs them nothing -- they make like fifty cents an hour -- and they know your time is valuable.

I worked for a consumer-products manufacturing company that was trying to find a distributor in India because we'd covered all the other big markets in the world. We went through the same shit with half a dozen different Indian distributors.

The "negotiations" consist of them repeatedly modifying the contracts you're sending them, signing those changed contracts, scanning them with a shitty scanner so you can barely read them and can't do a document comparison, and emailing them back, hoping you'll miss their changes and they'll be able to scam your company out of all the product you're sending them.

Things like "we don't have to pay you for six months, and even then we don't have to pay you if the repayment deadline falls during a holiday (there are dozens of holidays in India), and the contract cannot be terminated except by mutual agreement (so you can't cut them off when they keep failing to pay and owe you ridiculous amounts of money)".

Like, bitches, if you want to waste my time like that, the end result is that you aren't going to get a contract, and we will fucking blacklist you from ever getting one.

But they don't care. They just move on to the next company that desperately wants to break into a billion-shitjeet market on the same theory that failed in China -- that if they just sell every shitjeet (or Chinaman) a bowl of noodles for a dollar, then the company will have a billion dollars. No, stupid fucktards, you won't, because you won't be allowed to move the money out of India or China due to capital controls. And corrupt officials will be demanding bribes, and there will be taxes to pay, and your IP will all get stolen, and you will end up fucked.

That was in 2015 (and he tried to drug and kidnap me in 2018 after the huge bubble to almost $20K in December 2017). There were no ETFs.

But that's one reason I recommend ETFs to the boomers who don't understand computer security. Nowadays you can own all the Bitcoin you want, and if you're willing to accept the counterparty risk and the government-confiscation risk, you don't need to worry about the wrench-attack risk.

BTW, the fucker also broke into my apartment and stole a hard drive. I wonder how many computers he's burned out trying to get past the full-disk encryption on it. And then whether he managed to find the right files buried on it, and broke the encryption on those, only to find out that everything got moved to new addresses.

that doesnt help in this case, those trusts are defense against legal actions against, notably divorce rape
having crypto comes with the added joy of owning an asset that can be 'fenced' instantly perfectly and without recourse if your physical safety is ever compromised
so you must be an armed ghost at all times, or if not that quite hard to find irl from any kyc documents

[strong disagreement]
Shoot a couple of them and the rest are likely to run like hell. Even if they don't, the injured members of their gang are going to need medical treatment, which is likely to derail all of their plans for you.

Yes, you may get injured or killed if they shoot back, but their goal is to kidnap you, not to kill you. You're of no use to them if you're dying or brain-damaged.

congrats 1% of your potential targets actually have crypto and you have no way to know for real or how much they have
the other 99% of your targets are like the other anon said the criminal element who will also fight back and not only that but likely have plenty of buddies and connections in the local criminal network who will absolutely not take kindly to you fucking with them

the entire point of these attacks is knowing in advance for certain the target has crypto and approximately how much so they dont give you the decoy wallet
just targeting randos will give terrible results

It was an XKCD comic panel. See picretarded.

I don't know what date the comic was written but I think it predates Bitcoin by a few years. It was originally about breaking into hard drives by forcing someone to reveal his password by beating him.

I just learned that there are both No-KYC decentralized exchanges AND No-KYC centralized exchanges.
Moreover, there are prepaid cards and debit cards with little or no KYC.
