It’s funny when people think “altseason” automatically means bigger gains. On average, that’s not really true. Most alts just mirror large caps but with stretched volatility. If you DCA into them, you often end up with similar returns to large caps just with more stress from the swings.
The only real way to beat large caps with alts is by perfectly timing the bottom and the top, which is basically gambling. Sure, that can give the highest returns, but you never know “until when,” so it’s more luck than skill. And even large caps carry risk look at LTC and BCH two cycles ago, or EOS and ADA last cycle. Many faded away; some odd survivors like XLM remain, but who predicted that?
Personally, I think it’s better to keep a balanced portfolio, treat it like an index, and sell when prices are reasonably high for that period without getting greedy.
