Options let you go long or short on time, price, and volatility, based on whether you buy or puts and calls. These factors are called greeks, and include thera, delta, and vega, respectively. There is also gamma, which is how delta changes based on price, and rho which accounts for interest rates.

Gamma is a second order greek, since it describes how a greek changes based on a primary variable (price). Think of it as acceleration. But there are also greeks that descibe a change in acceleration, based on time, price, and volatility. Basically, its the mathematical explanation of why IV crush happens

Regurgitating definitions poorly doesn't result in understanding the concepts. Consider what delta is actually measuring: does it represent a % change in value or an absolute change of 1$ ?

From that, what does this actually imply for gamma? Why would an institution be sensitive to gamma, and look to hedge it alongside delta? How does that apply to the typical retard ITT who doesn't even understand the risk of going short vol while naked? Also it doesn't explain IV crush, learn about skew before that.

They all broke down over the 4 days and it was awful going back to huffing shit after mountain fresh air.
My Dad was a business broker and those porta potties businesses printed money. If your the one company with clean outhouses, I think its a massive opportunity.
I emailed the festival to see what the name of the business is, hoping the technology is something public. If I was younger and hungrier and poorer, I'd be starting that bussiness.

It's a classic pump and dump.
You can find interviews with the CEO on YouTube, she's a discount version of the Theranos bitch, fake deep man voice and everything. they also occasionally bring on some divorced dad type retired engineers to say some gobbledygook about graphene, it's all quite weird and unprofessional. Every comment on those videos is a 'to the moon' type post about the stock, rather than discussion of the technology. If you look through the timeline of these channels, the HGRAF shilling all starts 4-6 weeks ago i.e. preparation for the pump. Next step: rugpull.

I got a little curious after the main HGRAF anon posted his dd a couple days ago and had some good responses to concerns. But as soon as I found the YouTube vids I lost all hope, it's 99.9% a scam. I guess it's possible that everyone involved on the company side is just an extremely obtuse media-illiterate getting strung along by bad actors, but I can't suspend my disbelief that much.
A disruptive technology not bought out by institutional investors? If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Proceed with EXTREME caution.

i believe ai dashcams can hit $4 but im still gonna trim out my cost basis before that point

especially since it's still 90% of my tfsa right now i really have to cut it down faster, other shares are in my fhsa but in my tfsa it's ~347k shares, if my sell limit gets fulfilled it'll be down to 300k shares then i still gotta cut it down a bit more on Q4 and eventually waiting to sell the news on the TTC (Toronto Transit) contract news from the requisition back in June (so should be popping up very soon, maybe late August or early September ideally).
MTA (Long Island contract specifically so just 1/8th of MTA so far) news still needs to be announced but it's already priced in since it was already revelead from MTA documents themselves

It's just statistically unlikely that the opportunity on a 5-10Xed pennystock for significant further upside exceeds the risk of significant imminent downside due to dilution and profit-taking. It's fine to gamble on pennystocks every once in a while, but the crucial part is to buy BEFORE they moon, this is just common sense.

I'd honestly at this moment in time rather put money in something like NXDR than any of the tickers you mentioned, just on this principle.

No worries, I won't be buying it, at least not tomorrow, but looking at the chart of GSI, the technicals are looking good. I'd buy it if I had some dry powder still. Strong move up forming a bullish fair value gap on 6 month, 3 month and 1 month. It's just taking a long time to consolidate sideways. Just hold in there, a move higher is coming.

If it's any consolation, both GSI and HGRAF have mcaps in the hundreds of millions. There's no way a bunch of smiggers are going to significantly move either stock. HGRAF is running cuz it has legs.

yeah ive been buying and talking about ai dashcams for years, only started with 50k shares at the start of 2023 but i increased that to 300k+ shares over the past couple years when they started hitting an inflection point while the stock price itself lagged behind due to illiquidity

>>60776073
>There's no way a bunch of smiggers are going to significantly move either stock. HGRAF is running cuz it has legs.
i have literally moved the price of GSI.V on my own, when i was buying 50k-100k shares at once i'd pump the price up 5%-10% literally because i was eating all the asks, this happened in the 0.40's, the 0.60's, etc to me

yes the marketcap is in the hundred millions but a lot of the shares are tightly held and while the daily average volume has grown to 300k+ now when it used to be literally 50k-100k shares in the $0.50s, a single retail shareholder can absolutely move the price

not enough people understand how big of an advantage retail traders have for value investing in smaller companies
institutions are literally locked out until it grows to a large enough mcap for liquidity
you just need to learn to recognize good financials and growth

>5-10Xed pennystock for significant further upside exceeds the risk of significant imminent downside due to dilution and profit-taking
yes but also no, when a company hits a big growth inflection point due to some massive change (e.g. autocomplete technology reducing labour/time by 90%)
even if something has already 5x'd, you could still be looking at a 2x or 3x in a short time frame of 1-2 years

this is why institutions will still rush into a smallcap after retail just dumped their bags for a good 3x-4x. If there's clear meat on the bone, clear upside, why waste it
I'm late on intermap and they've had NEGATIVE gross profit, but they're very quickly increasing revenues/profit while expenses aren't growing as fast, that's what operational leverage is
thats why you cant always disregard ""unprofitable"" companies if they're in hypergrowth stage

if it was just that, then I'd prob have passed on Intermap because psychologically it is hard to enter a position after it just 5x'd, but its total addressable market is quite literally the entire earth, and yes they have a competitor but it's such a niche tech than even their competitor Hexagon cant fulfill the same shit, and even if they could, it's potentially a total addressable market in the hundreds of billions anyways, in a market where everyone else is at least 10+ years behind because it was such a shit business until autocomplete technology came into play

thats why i think people disregarding "ai" as autocomplete doesnt really make sense to me because AUTOCOMPLETE is fucking huge for cutting costs, the ai bubble is only beginning but a lot of smg still cant recognize or understand why because they only look at the chart and comment that it already 5x or 10x'd without trying to look at how or why

>Why would an institution be sensitive to gamma, and look to hedge it alongside delta?
From the perspective of a market maker, they want to sell options to gain value from theta decay, but gamma and theta move oppositely, they have to hedge gamma exposure, and as gamma changes, so does delta. As expiry approaches (and as price is more ITM or OTM) gamma and delta can change rapidly.

>it doesn't explain IV crush
I know that IV is volatility in the context of Black Scholes but it doesn't really "explain" anything. I've always understood it to be a sort of missing number that plugs into the formula to make the rest of it work (and then the partial derivatives do the work of expressing the greeks), so I treat it as a proxy for demand.

Having said that, if I had to relate it back to what I said above, I'd blame it on, say, Zomma, which is dgamma wrt to volatility. ER happens, demand dies off, IV drops, and because the position has a high zomma, gamma gets sharply affected and describes the huge swing in price

What's different about this stock is that despite already going like 8x since the recent lows, it's still in extreme discount to its near term future price (6-12 months out). Their product is going to affect every industry on the planet, they have exclusive rights to produce their high-quality product it with their patents for the next 10 years minimum and they will have huge profit margins.

Genuinely my biggest red flag for this stock is that it's headquartered in Canada, which is on fast track to becoming a failed state. I guess you could make a bullcase for increased security cam demand if Canada transforms further into an authoritarian police state as things fall apart, but idk.

>Elon Musk, the founder of xAI, on Monday threatened Apple with legal action over alleged antitrust violations related to rankings of his AI chatbot app, Grok.

>β€œApple is behaving in a manner that makes it impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1 in the App Store, which is an unequivocal antitrust violation. xAI will take immediate legal action,” Musk wrote in a post on social media platform X.

>β€œWhy do you refuse to put either X or Grok in your β€œMust Have” section when X is the #1 news app in the world and Grok is #5 among all apps? Are you playing politics?” Musk said in another post.

thats more normal than me making money off ai DASHCAMS come on now
they have actual revenue with high margins, yes theyre negative eps but this is necessary if you're focusing on growth. I still dont have a serious position in AMPL but for example with ai dashcams, they had increased SG&A and R&D obviously for the upcoming FRA mandate deadlines, marketing is necessary to tell all this railroads etc to know that ai dashcams is offering a viable solution to meet the mandate requirements by 2027 -> revenue/customers are sticky in this sector, once your equipment is in, why risk switching to a different company, SG&A can be cut down fast

there's also the matter of how expenses in general are structured, if you spend $10 million NOW to fulfill a $36 million contract over 1 year, the company may only be reporting the revenue on a month by month basis, i.e. $3 million per month, so $12m in 1 quarter, but you have to report a $10m "loss"/expense right away
thats why PE is a meme, it's still an important piece of info, but you cant make any conclusions off it, you have to use other metrics

right now something more boring like CXDO is what i started into, it seems more stable, and frankly i prob have the same price target ~$20 for both AMPL and CXDO. CXDO simply has a higher growth potential since it's a much smaller company so im jumping into that first

ur all jumping into graphene energy with no proven revenues yet because it sounds cooler im going to admit, meanwhile I'm buying boring shit like dashcams, website analytics, telephone services, FUCK if i wasn't too late on it i would have even bought CTLP fucking VENDING MACHINES but it got a buyout deal already at a pretty premium
^ so my buyout bet right now is on IDN "Intellicheck Inc" some proprietary niche security verification company who has a monopoly on drivers license, absolutely boring obscure shit but thats how price discovery works, exciting shit are already mooning

IMO the best way to approach companies is to find EVERY SINGLE SHIT THING ABOUT IT, and weigh it against the pros, and decide whether it's still a good value vs all the shit you found.
you dont have to SETTLE for a shitty 5/10 company, it's not a fucking competition first come first serve in a moment of time, none of us are institutions we are all retail shareholders who can prob only move the stock price 5%-10% at most (which is nothing in the grand scheme of getting 3x-5x profit)

and to me, having no proven revenues or scalability is a big red flag to me. You can make money but the downside risk is so high I'd rather just go for 10/10 or at least 8/10 companies to put my money in.
One thing a lot of retail shareholders fall for is listening to the COMPANY itself, holy shit man they might not lie to you directly but they are in the interest of pumping their own company, they will absolutely withhold ugly truths. You always need to look for third-party independent sources when verifying a company, a company can file any bullshit SEC document they want just like OPTI did, a good pump n dump that /smg/ did make money off with but you do need to know to get off fast
you need more than 1 customer and see what they're actually talking about

ai dashcams for example has THREE of the top 5 biggest public transits in North America. The pennyslvania transit was quite ltierally shilling to New York (MTA) about how good ai dashcams was for them lmfao not even joking it's right there in MTA"s documents as a reference for why they picked Gatekeeper to fulfill the CAD$30m contract

yes you can still listen to the CEO/company interview as a reference but dont base your entire thesis on that unless you really want to risk financial ruin. You need third party sources or youre just gambling, which can make you money but thats not something you can put 6-figs into

making money longterm is more about avoiding how many times you can lose, thats why people diversify in the first place, flip 10 coins that are weighted 70% to win, you always win on average but flip only 1 coin that's weight to win 90% you risk starting over from zero 10% of the time?
