Monero appears to be in the midst of a successful 51% attack.

who the fuck would waste $75 million per day only to destroy Monero reputation? what's the point of it? they can't do it forever

There are multiple three letter agencies that would gladly put an end to XMR, and they have the endless amount of money required to bankroll it.

>lose 1 billion
they'll just rollback or fork or whatever.
Anyway it's just code. Glowies can't do shit, just like they can't prevent 2 + 2 to equal 4
If monero goes back to 50$ i'll slurp violently

This is a good argument for POS I guess. Sure, bitcoin's hashrate is 1000x greater than Monero's, but conceivably, someone rich enough could buy up all the mining rigs. You can't buy up 51% of eth (actually 66% required now) without pushing the price to 6 figures

Yeah what institution has infinite money supply (aka printer) and hates people hiding money from itself?

Hmmmm

so they would prevent other miners from profitting instead of just printing themselves infinite XMR?

Even doe qubic only has at most 22% hashrate.

Also it wouldn't take 75 million a day, 432 xmr is mined everyday so it would take around 130k, qubic doesn't have 75 million rofl. This retard has no idea what he's talking about

POS is Monero's best option but it's probably too late now. Based on Ethereum's development timeline it will take months or years to convert Monero to POS. They don't have that kind of time with the coin on the threshold of a 51% attack.
