Reminder that if you'd bought Bitcoin a decade ago, you would have made around 400X (40,000%) on your investment. With gold, you've got maybe a 3X (200% gain) at best.

>Ethereum treasury company Bitmine Immersion plans to issue $20 billion worth of stock to buy more ETH
>Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) stock ended Tuesday's trading session up more than 5% after ethereum (ETH-USD) rose another 6% to trade north of $4,500 and the company announced plans to sell up to another $20 billion worth of stock to increase its holdings of the cryptocurrency.
>Bitmine, whose board is led by investor Tom Lee, announced Monday that its holdings of ETH stood at $4.96 billion, or a little over 1.15 million tokens, meaning the company owns roughly 1% of all tokens in circulation.
The company's goal is to eventually acquire 5% of the world's outstanding ETH tokens. Monday's news pushed the stock up more than 14%. The stock is up over 750% this year.

Newish to stacking pmβs I only have about 15 oz of silver (two five oz Buffaloes, and junk silver coins) and 1 oz of gold.
I picked up two oz Royal Tudor coin because it caught my eye in my LCS and I want the other coins that came out so far. I was talking with a guy who was in the shop and said if iβm just starting to focus of weight instead of getting specialty pieces. Should I get the other coins or just continue saving for heavier bars etc?

In general 1oz coins are the only coins you should get as usually the premiums on heavier coins and fractional silver makes them a poor investment choice in comparison. Heavier bars are a good choice though.

There are roughly two camps about what to get. I'm fond of coins as they have the advantages of potential additional numismatic appreciation above the metal content, and are more saleable in that coins are taxed differently depending what country you're in possibly avoiding taxes altogether. I am buying the Tudor series even though I am a bit reticent - it's kind of a remake of the Queen's Beast series, and remakes make me fee like it's cheap - a copy - and I'm being played by someone who lacks imagination.
But you're jumping into this series in the middle. Which beast did you get?

This honestly doesn't come as much of a surprise, the smaller a piece of Silver is, the more liquid it is. A kilobar will cost a shop a lot more to buy than a 1 oz round and will take a lot longer to sell (and sell for far less of a premium over spot).

I'm all about sovereign coins. I generally buy tubes, though these singles are nice. Coins are nice because you get the spot plus a little extra when selling to LCS. Rounds, you get slightly less than spot when selling to LCS. Since I'm in this for the long term, I don't really care. I will get the best price for what I have.
On the other hand, there is an argument for getting rounds. You won't get spot plus [whatever], though you WILL get more silver in total. The question becomes: do you want raw quantity or do you want each individual item to be of the highest value? That's a question that only you can answer. I've made my choice. For me it's coins over rounds. I say this as someone who owns more rounds than coins. Take me with a grain of salt and understand that you will likely change your mind at some point. Which is fine. I have changed my mind and many others have as well. It's not a big deal. Above all else, just remember this: ALWAYS BE STACKING.

Me too anon, when I bought my most recent AGE, I asked the shop owner what dates he had before comitting to buy one (if he only had new reverses, I would've gotten a Maple instead).
It's so ridiculous how the new designs remove all the symbolism of the old ones, the original AGE had a family of eagles building a nest, symbolic for how the coin was meant to be used, and the new reverse is just an eagle head with no symbolism whatsoever. The old ASE reverse wasn't the best, but its design still inherited the symbolism from the Seal it was based off of while the new design (the eagle with the clipped wing) seemingly has negative symbolism.

https://web.archive.org/web/20120120214543/http://blog.davidlawrence.com/index.php/mercury-dimes-ch-4-counterfeit-altered-coins/
Apparently the Soviets sort of did this back in the 30s and 40s with US Silver coins, but those coins contained the full amount of Silver.
In the modern era it wouldn't really be profitable to do this with Silver (5% less silver only saves $1-2 per coin), but it might be for Gold. The hard part would be getting high enough quality dies so that your counterfeit wouldn't look like a counterfeit. The profit margin might just be too thin once die costs are factored in, though an official mint (or someone with access to the official dies) could easily do it.
I don't think any examples of this sort of counterfeit have been found though, so it's impossible to say if they exist or not.

Looks at the patents for distributed 5G towers that with phase modulation can couple with other towers to create ULF electromagnetic emissions that couble with the alpha, beta, delta brainwaves from 3 to 8 hertz or so.
I don't have any rocks except for the one in my front yard landscaping. I do own piles of raw elemental metals such as gold, silver, copper, tellerium and palladium but those are no rocks, those are pure bullion. And yes im doing well coverting the crypto profits into tangible assets.

for coins, i really like silver phil harmonics. they just look neat and they are a bit smaller in circumfrence and fatter than other coins/rounds. i really enjoy 5 and 10 oz bars too in silver
for gold, i buy 20 franc coins or sovereigns or 2 rand coins almost exclusively.

How far will silver actually go, and does it matter since the USD is merely inflating over time? Like I know silver will go higher but will it be WORTH more. Or maybe I am comparing it to dollars and that is wrong. What will silver be worth like actually assuming the USD fails or even if it doesn't fail will it be worth more in terms of usefulness than it currently is. Like fwtdhwatqad tier or will it at least be able to be used in supermarkets like how Venezuela was/is?
I myself have a small stack but I have friends that have well over 3k or more ounces. Of shtf or silver goes up monumentally I am invited to stay on their land in exchange for a silver fee. But this is as speculative as crypto is, I'm not entirely sure what will happen. I have a brain but my ability to determine what exactly this shit-ass global government is trying to do escapes me.

The density of gold makes it very difficult to counterfeit. Only tungsten has the same density and it is radically different in every other way. First of all, tungsten is very hard. A normal die could not even begin to stamp a coin design into it. Even if you could somehow produce a tungsten coin and gold plate it, a Sigma would detect it instantly. Even a ping test would reliably reveal the fraud in the case of a coin. In the case of ingots, you might be able to bury some tungsten into the middle of it. But that is a problem for banks, not me.
You could match the density of silver with alloys, stamp them and plate them. But it still will not pass a sigma test or ping test because they detect what is under the surface. But, as with gold, you might be able to bury some cheap alloy into a large silver ingot. Not really worth the effort at the current price, but someday maybe.
Buying from a reputable dealer makes the process virtually fool proof.
On the other hand, numismatic fakes are a pretty big problem. It requires real expertise to detect a good numismatic fake. Again, not my problem as I don't collect coins for numismatic value.

>will my silver purchases allow me to secure a house
probably not, especially considering that the get a house you pretty much have to go through their banking system where everything is itemized and accounted for. so unless you were to sell your silver at 5% less and then report it vis-a-vis paying capital gains tax its a very myopic way to purchase a home
purchasing physical gold and silver allows you to have effectively a big boy savings account not tied to the financial system. it does not translate into todays economy in many forms when you have to have a 3rd party arbiter (government) making sure you pay as much as possible to the bankers. purchasing anything with perpetual debt tied to it (taxes, upkeep, etc.) is going to be the antithesis to stacking metals
if you want to save, employ a 10-10-10 method and forget about it. 10% into physical metals, 10% into stocks, 10% into another asset class or securities vehicle such as crypto, guns, forex, whatever you like

>silver will buy you a house
you have to change the silver into USD in a bank account first unless you can find that one eccentric seller who will outright trade. the bankers have fixed the game so you have to play with their gov approved tokens. that means converting silver into USD (and any amount over $5k is reported) and paying capital gains tax because fuck us thats why
stock market is overvalued, as is most everything else. you can choose to be sidelined and yeet everything into one asset class which is stupid; or you can pick conservatively and spread your risk around.
us companies largely overvalued because we are service/information based economy. they are overvalued because they have fewer assets than manufacturing or logistics firms. >but american companies suck
ive done very well with big tobacco stocks. my picks are altria, BTI and philip morris. all 3 have at least 40% or more within a year; and the dividends.....talking 8-9% with quarterly pay into a DRIP, that there is fucking comfy. i backed american because i am american. our gov sucks and the market is rigged but i invest in big tobacco for a few reasons
-they own the fields and plants and advertisement firms
-tobacco is a physical american product
-its americas oldest export and we dominate the tobacco farming
-big tobacco is evil and they will make it
spread risk around 10-10-10 is simple

I think you have it backwards. Because the timing of the inevitable collapse of the debt bubble is unpredictable, it is, in my opinion, a fool's gamble to invest in doomed assets like stocks and commercial real estate hoping to make gains and jump ship just before it hits the iceberg. It's not impossible, but there are people with more inside information than you will ever have that will always beat you to the lifeboats. So good luck with that. I have better things to do with my life than watch charts and follow the news everyday hoping to time the exit. For me, it is better to store my wealth in an asset I KNOW will survive the collapse of the USD. That means PMs, my home, my vehicles, guns and ammo, etc. And then get on with living.

That is my understanding as well. Whether they can be used as coinage is another question, even if very stupid to do so.
There was a story circulating about the one-kilo Queen's Beast Completer coin. Its face value is 500, and when silver dropped so low that face was more than content, a guy tried cashing his in and the banks refused it. Alas, I did not screen cap the postings (not from here), so I have to confess this is now just hearsay.

Here in Canada the face value of most silver and gold coins are so low in comparison to their weight in precious metals it would never be worth cashing them in. A silver maple is $5cad face value and a gold maple is even worse at $50cad face value.

In the stamp collecting world, similarly issued stamps are called "Cinderellas." They have a postage, but the issuing country won't accept them to mail a letter. They were made strictly as fund raisers.

A bunch of nearly fifthy silver coins for almost 9oz at -26,42% premium bought at flea market again.
The Elisabeth II jubilee silver coin at -63% premium.
I didn't even spend half of my budget I'd allowed.

m8, we live in America. Just getting in your car to buy a small black coffee already evaporated 10 doll hairs. I'm not losing sleep over shipping & handling. Although I am curious as to how much it has totaled over time, probably won't be much considering I usually buy $500 and up.

>and when silver dropped so low that face was more than content, a guy tried cashing his in and the banks refused it.
Ironically enough, I know how governments and banks assume authority that belongs to neither of them, and many fall for listening to either of them.
It's much easier to self govern, and self bank and exceed both local, state, and federal institutions. This story, hearsay or not, matters little because it's happening every day, everywhere, in every-way imaginable. Line go up, line go down, tp on shelves, no tp for the bunghole, coffee not tariffed, coffee 17 fedbux a pound. I'm pretty sure from my decades of experience that it's best to just be grateful for having what you need, and especially grateful for having abundance beyond that of useful resources that is useful to provide for needs, my own, and others who I may be able to help.
Then there's beyond that, to have opulent and exquisite things of beauty and value, which inspire and motivate productivity and passion. This is evidence of immense blessing, but since beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder, it varies greatly from one individual to another.
The old saying, "One man's trash is another man's treasure," surely comes to mind. There's many things that I value that very few others do. One of those things is understanding, especially of truth or what and what is not true. I abhor the NIV version, but this verse in the KJV is rarely understood, so I keep it handy for just such occasions. Pic related.
Coining words of truth rather than conning words of lies in a thing of beauty to me. So thank you.

Because it's much harder to tamp it down when you play against large players. It was easy to control back when they were only fighting retail's longs and back when Asia was too scared to hit back.
But now we live in a different world. China's SHGE isn't afraid to price silver spot continuously higher than the comex/LBMA, forcing Wall Street to answer back to avoid all their vaulted reserves to bleed to death, since traders will inevitably try to bank on the arbitrage. Same goes with worst Korea, who don't have a pricing index yet, but are shortcircuiting the market by purchasing only ore, draining the mines before their silver even has a chance to go on the open market.
Overall the weak tampings comes from a new macro economic reality where it's now Asia dictating the tempo and the "western empire" struggling, trying to overuse old coercive tactics to control the markets who do not have the impact it used to. Especially (almost exclusively) the US, the abuse of sanctions and dollars restrictions led to this lack of trust.

Also it's collectively our fault. We give our coins zero visibility, even semi-regulars here don't even know when a coin is being made over half the time.
People don't even know those exist. If you want to see a bigger premium, you gotta post your mintanon coins on every board you usually go. Each time you'll post one you'll get at least few (you)s asking you wtf is this. Just few months of /pmg/ posting their memecoins on /pol/ who raise up the premiums by x3. Factual. So do it.

Didn't these things sell for $50 originally? Once Silver spot breaks $50/oz you'll be in the green on these coins even if there's no market for them.
That being said, the Aputannia's always going to command a hefty premium because it was first, before any of the other pmg rounds, before any of the /mlp/ rounds and IIRC before the Kiwifarms round.

Still expecting it to outperform gold in 2026 and reach 50$, now if the stockmarket bootlickers are saying this there is a high chance the economy is getting nuked soon. Jewelry > bullion
Jewelry can't be confiscated.
You can wear Jewelry to attract bitches
Coins are for incels and old boomers.
Jewelry is harder to fake
Jewelry such as chains and bracelets are far more divisible, in hard times you can sell off individual links.
Normies trust Jewelry more, a chain with a 14k stamp is more recognizable than a shady bar that says pure 999 gold.
You can travel across borders with jewelry and not have to declare it, coins and bullion will be confiscated if not declared.
Jewelry can sell for 2x+ spot if you find the right buyer.
Jewelry takes more labor and fine artisan craftsmanship, it doubles as a piece of art.

Not if you know where to look, I buy stuff for close or under spot all the time on ebay, you need to filter by most recent and look for accounts with low feedback that means theyre normies selling and not pawnshops or jewelry stores.
You can buy cheap gold under spot locally on fb market or offer up, usually from mexicans, many dont even know how to calculate the value.
I bought pic related 14k pen for $300
Though I dont know how much gold there is, im fairly certain there's atleast 10 grams and the pens sell as collectibles. I have another one I bought from the same guy but I can't find it right now

You could theoretically get a huge gold chain and remove the hallmark and just pass it off as costume jewelry. Bullion is way harder to smuggle to the point where jeets have to shove giant gold dildos up their asses when they fly to Dubai

Find higher examples of italian gold work than a kinetic photorealistic sculpture made in 1950. Ai can confirm such pieces dont actually exist. They are not in art history books or museums or galleries. They do not exist period.

If you can't buy 1 oz coins or bars, your next best choice would be to buy Foreign gold coins that used to circulate, with British Sovereigns, French/Swiss 20 Francs and Austrian Coronas and Ducats usually being the lowest premium.
If you want unmarked gold bars, I'm not sure where you'd find those for low premiums unfortunately.

It's not an investment to me in the "make lots of money" sense. I just see the value in parking some of the value from actual investing in PMs. /biz/ was part of helping me find my way there and it'll be part of helping me find my way here too.

lol, are you really trying to compare the most famous clockwork on earth who took a lifetime to make to be offered to the most powerful king back then... with a fucking golden crab? An articulated playmobile is different from a 300yo astro clock who tells you when jupiter will cross saturn in 2678 AD...
If it was so incredibly bing bing wahoo, then why not spend the fucking $CAD27K to acquire it?

the comparison to faberge was a bit or a stretch, but it's not unlike some tiffany's shit that sells for extreme premiums.

that's a good starting point, this anon should have talked about the item in real money, nobody know/care what a leafdollar is worth like. If it was sold for scrap weight, then yes that's a great deal, but nowhere he said that.
Plus i was the first anon to comment on his find
>>60788843 and tell him how nice it was.
I was all for it, until he spent the next 20 posts autismo-shilling this thing, then it got onto my nerves. It's not even about the item i want to lash against, it's about the namefag spamming his shit.
He isn't even scrapanon.

I fumbled it. It was listed for one day. I made an appointment at 10am. Showed up with 30k in scrap and 5k cash so they could take what they want and the rest in cash. While i was negotiating the scap the buyer on the phone paid and that was the end of it.
I was so close and i shared the story just because i was close to getting something very unusual.
And this is a gold work not a
Clock. Different categories. I have handled a lot of gold in my life and this is something you will never see again. 400 hours of expert labor is⦠rare to say the least

You dont know anything about canadian βboomersβ. Italian artistic masterpieces are not common purchases among canadian elderly? Are you from toronto or vancouver?
I doubt it even came from a boomer. An ikemono style piece was probably commissioned by a rich jap since post war aligns with japanβs industrial rise

In the last few years the best i have seen is a concord c1 (the 250g 18k brick) a gold 18k iced jacob and co 5 timezone, maybe a dozen gold presidens, a factory iced 18k breitlingβ at least in canada good stuff isnt infinite. Maybe different in rich parts of ny or california but not in canada.

Yeah selling to museums is the holy grail of collecting. If you can name active museum exhibits and say βi supplied thatβ its a big flex but you have to be very careful since there are many large databases of looted goods and museums generally are careful about provinance

Several even! What i found interesting is it was only from central/east european museums (Poland & Croatia are the two i remember clearly; both for rare medieval Vatican coins), but my descriptions aren't even in english. It means they tend to delve pretty deep to find what they want on their catalogue, or that maybe they have a more opportunistic approach, to save on money. Idk, it's not ways of acquiring materials i'd imagine the western countries' museums do. I don't even know if western museums are looking after new stuff, they probably simply wait to inherit richfags' collections.
