Eth close to ATH nominally.
But accounting for inflation the real ATH should be around 6000. Maybe even higher.

All charts should be adjusted for inflation, making past prices in today's dollars, in that way farts like you will get it in the face every day.

On the flip side if you bought the top in 2021 the inflation adjusted break even is close to 6.5k. So no cap gains taxes unless you sell above that. It’s not much but it’s a silver lining after years of bagholding.

cap gains are calculated in nominal terms not real terms lol

the ETH/BTC ratio peaked at 0.15 in June 2017. that would be $18,300 today

Is there an actual reason this is going up? I have a bunch of it but don’t want to recognize the gains until I’m a neet so I don’t have to pay taxes.

no, it's a shitcoin that gets dragged around by bitcoin's gravitational pull

It is going up because a lot of people sold the bottom. That is the only reason. Market makers that have all the info then pump it to fomo them back in. Even wonderful negro Hayes sold and bought back higher.

>Aug 13 (Reuters) - Standard Chartered raised its year-end target for ether to $7,500 from $4,000 on Wednesday, citing improvement in industry engagement and uptick in holdings of the cryptocurrency in recent months.

>"We project that the stablecoin sector will grow by around 8x by end-2028, which would have a significant direct impact on fees on the Ethereum network," said Geoff Kendrick, Standard Chartered's head of digital assets research.

>The brokerage raised its 2028 year-end ether forecast to $25,000 from $7,500.

not that these aren't possibly overly optimistic or anything.

8.5k is awful over 4 years given inflation and how well most other things have done. eth is finished if that's the top.

And i dont think it will get even anywhere there. I hope, because i am holding it, but i am not that crazy to think is going to 15k soon.
