Why is it so hard to sell?
As soon as it hits 5k, it's "obviously going to 10k"

if it actually hits 10k then it's clearly going to 20k

20k? 50k is a lock

then when it finally crashes, obviously that was the top

dunno im new as fuck and trying to gauge when to buy and when to sell, I see shit like nvidia was originally a couple of dollars for a stonk and if Id have invested in like 2021 id have thousands by now. Imagine selling thinking its over then it fucking shoots up I think id cry, seeing what was thousands turn into tens of thousands.

Set stop losses like 10% down so if it drops too far you can at least take profit or minimize losses. Then just keep adjusting the stop loss as the price increases. Easy peasy.

If I had to guess, Greed. That and you fell for the “make it” meme where you think if you continue hodling, the price will keep going up to hit your make it number.

Their is an infamous green text of the anon that sold his multi 10k+ eth stack at $14. He was sure it would dip, it never dipped until after 400. His grief is why I never sell Bitcoin, ever. And I have only ever sold ether to pay for house or more Bitcoin.
Swing traders are the most degenerate of all.

you can cost average out. as soon as it hits 5k you sell 15% every month, once it hits 10K you sell 30% every month and when it reaches 20k you sell 50% every month.

It won't hit 5K, that's the point.

Many such cases. In the early days no one could have imagined Eth/btc would end up where they are now. Neither of these will ever pull in the type of shitcoin multipliers like they once did. There’s only so much that they will pump from these levels, so you might as well breakaway from that mindset.

Selling along the way like you have is good. Holding because there might be a chance that it keeps going up isn’t so good. That chance will always exist to some extent. If your goal is to always stay in crypto then it doesn’t matter in the end but for anyone else who wants to cash out, goals need to be set otherwise you will forever be miserable

Just set a profit target and sell, that's literally it. Do it in chunks if you prefer.
I swung 20% of my Link to BTC after it pumped 30%. Consider it a 30% discount on BTC while still having a nice bag of Link for further pumps.

Simply aim to convert crypto, especially altcoins, into 'safer' investments before the bubble bursts.
Then buy back after big dips have stabilized. Even if you sell too early and the dips are higher than what you sold at in the past, your overall net worth should still have increased if you stick to your targets.
The possible extra gains you miss out on are simply the price you pay for sleeping better once you're out of the bull run waiting for the crash.

This is my strategy. It might not be the best, but it works for me.

As a hispanic man, I have less chances than whites and I really need to plan my moves. My advice is to DCA out when it comes to alts. Never sell your btc and keep stacking sats

The Merchant: Set a goal and sell 100% when hit, not looking back. Dump your bag on the goym. Buy back later after the crash.

The Analyst: Sell a bit of your stack on extreme greed every day. Buy a bit back after each larger dip.

c) The Slurper: Never sell diamond hands just buy on dips.

If he made 140k on his stack whenever that was, did something productive with it like ETFs or buy a house or whatever, he should have increased his net worth considerably.
Hell, if he'd simply set aside his pride and bought back at 400 he'd be a millionaire today.

You can only double down and win so many times before you go bust. That's just the nature of the casino.

Euphoria, fomo but also on some level momentum- once a stock is about to do a blowoff top, you're a retard for selling too early and will watch with your little 2x while it does another 6x.

you should have concrete goals to sell on the up and the down for every single stock/shitcoin you own
