I am grateful to my parents. They set me up on my feet and have always been more than generous. Literal opposite of the stereotypical boomer.

My both parents worked full time and raised three children until dad was banned by law from working anymore (too old for his profession), mom still works despite officially being on retirement. Personally i find working more than 30 hours a week kinda wasting my life away, especially with these tax levels. Also i want to just fool around with multiple women, fuck being locked to just one woman because of children lol. Boomers definitely were harder workers and took more responsibility than millenials/zoomers.

I dont have a """special""" bond with my parents but on the other hand I dont have something like that with anyone in my life. I like them and I never felt anything remotely negative towards them. I gave up everything and moved halfway across the country back to my childhood home in rural texas to help take care of my mom and dad after they both got sick. Dad's kidneys gave out on him but he pulled through it. The stress mad mom have a small stroke which led to alzhiemers. I took care of her till she died a few years ago in my arms. Now dad's all alone so I stay with him. He's not doing good either. I think he might not make it past this year. I'm penniless and jobless and basically gave up everything but it was worth getting some extra time with them and making sure they were ok and could stay in their home at the end. I'll figure out what to do after dad's gone. I've been told karma will bless me but i know that's not true. Sometimes doing the right things are hard. God has a plan I guess.
