/wfh/Chads Assemble
>woke up at 8:59 am
>turned on work laptop
>brushed teeth, shaved, made myself coffee
>first two meetings of day cancelled
>team has delivered close to nothing for many months but senior managers don't care
>another guy was hired to do a very similar job to me
>currently playing DOTA2

The cloudy weather, slight tiredness, lack of work for me to do, many people on holiday from work, and lack of meetings gives me the impression that there's no way anyone else is doing work.

My current place of work (very well known UK company) is currently having a large scale redundancy consultation which is dragging on and on and on and will continue to do so for months. I want to leave anyway so I'm basically doing almost nothing, just enough to 'keep the lights on' in my role as it were, and getting paid fully for it for at least another few months. I think I'll be offered to keep my role as I'm being pooled with a spastic no one likes and a girl on Mat leave who likely won't come back anyway. When I am offered it I will simply ask for a new job title and a pay rise to reflect the fact my role has gone three into one and they want the same output. If they refuse I'll simply leave.

get a wfh without a leash and it's true freedom. I get due dates for weeks ahead on my tasks. no monitoring just that all tasks need to be completed on time. I finish tasks for the week in 1 day. 4 days off paid. some weeks it takes 2 days if there's a lot but most of the times it's 1 day.

I honestly think is better than fully remote because it's safer and more sustainable. When you're fully remote management always worries that you're not doing shit, but if they see you working it gives them comfort and they can attach a face to someone before doing a layoff.

I have 3 WFH and 2 in office days, and I honestly don't mind the in-office days too much because it actually forces me to work instead of just jerking off and playing vidya all day. If I were fully WFH, I'd be too self-indulgent to the point where I get fired whereas with hybrid I can save all my work for in-office days too look busy.

If you consooom slopflix or play gaymes ( while still getting paid for your bullshit job)
instead of actually doing something useful (setting up a business, trading shitcoins, learning new frameworks) - then you‘re simply not gonna make it

Im a remote scrum meme project manager and unfortunately I don‘t have the luxury of several hours of down time since I have to sit for hours with some boomer upper managers in meetings and discuss/edit useless confluence pages, wikis that noone‘s gonna read anyway - still I try to squeeze some personal project work in here and there

my current job and my previous job both implemented outsourcing after implementing 3 day RTO. it's not safer in any way. some retard asshole executive 6 levels above you wants to cut head cost in your department and your boss's boss is given a number to hit. being in 100% in office or remote doesn't help one bit.

I have a NEET uncle in his late 50s. He has been a NEET since his early 30s. My grandma (his mom) recently died. Grandpa died quite young, decades ago. The other uncles and aunts are fine with him squatting on grandma's house. They even bring him food occasionally, otherwise he only eats eggs and bread. He is clinically depressed and lives on government assistance.
I wonder what he does all day. Is he just constantly high on meds or something? He is oldschool and doesn't even have a computer. He got a smartphone only around 2020.
Anyway, short answer is that NEETs are at the mercy (and stupidity) of their siblings. NEETbux is never enough to live alone, unless you live in Norway or something.

Okay, I'll bite. What kind of job? What skills? Is the pay even worth it? I make almost 200k, but it's a demanding and stressful job. Still, I'd consider a pay cut for a wfh job, as long as I could still make at least 100k.

Ordinarily would be cause for concern but these bloated corporations are so disorganized that the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing and they just make decisions without any rhyme or reason and with no thought put into it at all or any form of planning.

Working for a big company, I was ten years a NEET, my resume is pure shit, yet I got a job immediately after one week of job hunting. I even offered them to pay me the minimum just to get my foot into the door, but they refused and pay me like a regular worker kek.

The skilled worker shortage is real.

Saving shittons of money and putting it into an index fund. There arent any opportunities to get into higher ranks, I just have kind of a highschool degree and accomplished an apprenticeship. Wrong thread for that, just wanted to say that larger companies offer better pay, because HR and job interviewers do not communicate with each other about applicants. The larger the company, the more chaotic and lazy.

Kek, I do the same, but not when I'm around strangers.
It enhances the experience of sipping considerably. Just try it a few time, you will never sip without noise again.

I interviewed for a role recently that was technically on site but got to the second interview and the guy said that most of the guys are remote and he doesn’t care as long as you get the work done. Needless to say I wanted that job.

Yesterday I got the generic email from the HR bimbo “we have decided not to move forward at this time blah blah blah” so I replied with an image of myself flipping her off and then I signed her phone number up for a bunch of political text message spam and health insurance offers.

That's for fucking sure. Don't even think about trying to shove any of their fuck ups either. That will only cause more issues and it will be your problem.
I have concluded that the corporation is a scam so that everyone working in one can make money, the government gets taxes, and they run on a Ponzi stock scheme. They are impossibly unprofitable. We live in a fake economy.
The CEO is not the problem. Every single employee of a corporation is just as much to blame.
