NTA, but you're dealing with circulated coins that have dirt and grime beyond potential tarnish. You'd normally do the foil method for .999 fine silver to reset tarnish to shiny.
Cleaning junk can be as simple as soap and water. Maybe vinegar if you're stubborn about shiny. Again, they are junk circulated coins so I wouldn't worry about losing silver content by cleaning either.
